Yeah, it's normally not part of my job but we need some business

Maybe, haha. We changed the oil and put oil treatment in, gonna see if that helps at all.

It's mildly loud, lol.
Eek. That's no fun. I used to be in accounts receivable and hated having to call customers for payment.
Haha, I don't mind doing that unless they're really rude. It's sales calls I hate making:(

I find humor in it, if I'm not gonna buy I just continue the conversation and make them repeat everything.
My brother answered one time to a sales call, and he asked them if they wanted cookies. They were like, no thank you sir but are you interested in our offer, he responded "well if you dont want me cookies, i dont want your offer, they're good cookies" The person then said "sir, I'm trying to be serious" or something like that and then he acted all pissed and goes "I'm offended, i put a lot of work into these cookies, you could at least try one"

Working for VW now, I've already seen the maintenance records of a few and have heard of the maintenance costs of them.....I'm not all about spending 30-40k for a USED one and spend 6k a year maintaining it. I've spent all of....500 in the 1 yr 2 months of owning the Fusion. Not counting gas, which the RS4 will surely surpass is cost.

haha ok I worded it wrong. I'm more into cars than ever and love the knowledge and experiences I am gaining regaurdless of the stresses and hiccups.
however, I used to go to a different meet every day of the week Sun-Fri no matter what. Now I go to one meet a week. It's great to drive and meet new people/see new cars, but after a month of traveling close and far to the same meets, it gets old and with my foot, expensive (gas... I haven't *knock on wood* gotten a ticket in this car yet). My passion and drive for cars will always be there and I will always have a toy. But my will to travel to meets just to stand around every week over and over again? Not so much. Call me lazy, whatever... There's just times I'd rather lay in my bed and scratch my balls or go out with my gf on a nice date (she comes to the meets with me anyway). But even being tired never stops me. I sit down at home on a nice day like this for about 20 mins and next thing you know I'm outside cleaning my car, or making wiring neater or changing out something lol. It's a hobby that I'll always love.
I'd rather start to learn the cars abilities at the track with seat time than drive to stand around when I already do that once a week. That's what I've been shooting for since I bought a car that has potential in both speed and handling. Just have to smooth out the edges and small problems.

but really... meets bore the **** out of me. i'd rather be at home sitting in front of the computer dicking around.

Meets to me are a way to open doors because you meet people that can teach you things you don't know. One example being the fact that I met Art and learned so much about the 3S and tons of other stuff related to my car, or my buddy Alex who taught me stuff about handling and how to drive a car through turns and where to go race that I could have never known. On the same aspect of sitting at home... I'd rather relax and do research/read up on stuff and learn than go accomplish nothing every night of the week.
Once the "door" is open.. It's open. Time to move on. Not just stand there to stand there. Get some food, have some drinks, whatever

Dans saying all this about meets that he doesn't attend very often anymore BUT we're attending SOMETHING car related September 12 & 13 and 19 & 20 (two full consecutive weekends) plus the big MR2 meet the 2nd weekend in October and possibly another local show the day following the MR2 meet
I don't mind car meets though. Sure they get boring but working full time and now that school is starting it's just time for me to get out with Dan and friends and not think about anything. I'm excited for the time to get out and hang out with people. Especially the MR2 meet though.

They didn't bring this back to be a highly produced production car. It was planned to make only so many per year. And last I checked, Holden is still in business.
I don't see how that has anything to do with a quality car.

All is good. We will need to find a good time for you to work on the '09 next. That is my daily driver and is parked outside everynight. It already has some nicks on the bumper.....city parking rash.....

Sounds good to me! I'll be doing the double sealant on this one which will make maintaining it a breeze and the sealant itself typically last 6 months on a daily driven vehicle, since it'll be stored...it's basically like clear bra-ing the car for a long time.

Christ dude. You are a born hater.
I'm just sayin, if it was that easy, I'd already be back to work on the car. The pads are so pourous that you can't just use any soap on them and definitely not directly cause it'll get caught up in there. You cant like "flash" dry them either because they'll become brittle. I just wish that one Polish I ordered wasn't on back order or I'd have a whole new spare set already and still be buffing the car. Such is life, I'll still get it done tomorrow, I'll just sweat a lot more

The point of my post was to inform you to use a hair dryer to speed up the drying process as it works really well on foam pads and applicators, but you have your head stuck so far up your own ass sometimes that you cant take advice from anyone.

Art, you didn't fully read my post. I'd take the advice if it was deemed beneficial, which it's not. I've been doing this for a long time, you don't use a hair dryer to quickly dry a buffing pad for the buffer itself. Heat breaks these pads down, which is how they wear over time, by doing that I sacrifice the quality of the pad and risk making it brittle which will defeat the purpose of the pad itself.

That's the thing, you think you know everything.
You have your head up your ass because as soon as I mention ANYTHING having to do with detailing, you jump in with how its wrong.
You mentioned that you wanted to clean your pad but didn't want to wait for it to dry. I gave you a solution.
Hell you can even set your dryer on low heat or air blast and it will do the job of drying the pad as the air gets pushed through the foam, but what do I know.

Art, I'm not dismissing you, a good bit of the things you have suggested to me were wrong...
The pads are under a fan, it's the orange pads too and they're VERY dense and if they're too moist then it messes the polish up and it'll sling everywhere. I've had "dry" pads send polish up the side of a car cause the core was still damp.
I shoot it down cause I like to be an ass, in the same way you like to respond to some of my suggestions/stories

Thats is the case for any Exotic car though. You aren't paying for just engineering. Its a premium to drive a low production car. If poor people could by a Ferrari, they wouldn't be all that cool now would they.

Toyota and Honda decided that they wanted to only make cars for the masses and not have specialized cars. I grew up a big fan of the Celica and the Supra, Prelude and CRX Si.
Today, Toyota has nothing that resembles a sports car in the model line up. Honda has a CRX Si. Everything else needs after market tuning to make them run like a sports car. It seems that if a model cannot sell at least 25,000 units no company wants to produce it.
