Whats done to the motor? I kind like the car, with a nice set of wheels it would really set it off.
Looks like 944 taillights to.

The front end reminds me of a 2002. Looks like a stock M20 under the hood.

Right away, let me apologize for resurrecting such an old thread; However, I have a good reason for doing so:

Several years ago, I purchased a BMW E21 320i race car from a retired BMW team driver. I don't know much about the car's history, other than it was purpose built as a Group 2 entry in the ETCC in the late 70's (same era as the insane Group 5 cars). The car accumulated an extensive racing history in Europe before being imported to the States. Unfortunately, the car never had a logbook (or it was lost) and the previous owner didn't keep records other than memories, so piecing together is an ongoing process of piecing together bits of information here and there.

The biggest hurdle, by far, has been tracking down spare bodywork. According to the previous owner, the original molds are sitting in a factory in Germany, but would cost about $10k to purchase and ship to the USA. That's the only lead I have from 10 years of trying to identify the bodywork. The company name/logo is molded into the underside of the rear wing, but I haven't been able to find any trace of the company. I continue to race the car and, needless to say, the body has taken a few hits over the years. Without any source of spare bodywork, any damage had to be carefully repaired by hand.

Here is my car:

I nearly leapt out of my chair when I stumbled upon this thread and saw my bodywork on another car! I have a different front airdam and sideskirts, but the front and rear fenders and the rear wing are identical. I know this doesn't bring me any closer to sourcing spare bodywork, but just seeing the same bodywork on another car is astounding.

On a more serious note, if the OP of this thread happens to read this, are you still in touch with the owner of the orange car? If so, I would LOVE to get in touch with the owner of that car to see if he can help me track down more examples.

Ryan, is that the cage you bought the car with? I've never seen a configuration that puts a bar across the window like that...seems like it would make ingress and egress problematic and dangerous in a evac situation....not to mention the proximity to your head (and it's unpadded).

Aye, that is the cage the car was purchased with. The door bars are really low, not like today's cage standards at all, so getting in/out is a snap. The seat is mounted as close to the tunnel as possible (inside of the seat is actually pressed up against the tunnel). Its the exact same cage as the Jagermeister Group2 E21. a resurrection indeed!

I dont have the personal contact for the owner anymore.

I do know he works/worked at "the jeep shop" in chester springs
http://www.thejeepshop.net/
give them a call and see if he is still there.

I know for a fact he moved from the house he was living at back in 2008 when I took picture of the car
