My NSX widebody build

Thanks for looking,

I haven't posted on here in quite awhile but figured I would document the work i'm doing on my NSX over the winter. I'm currently in the process of installing the following parts:

Sorcery one-off widebody front bumper
'02+ headlight conversion
Downforce NSX-R ducted hood
Sorcery version 2 widebody fenders
Sorcery side skirts
Sorcery widebody rear quarters
Sorcery rear spats
Sorcery carbon fiber rear diffusor
Sorcery F1 center exit exhaust
Craft square mirrors
etc.

I also plan to shave as much weight as possible.

Here is the car as it sat at the beginning of the build

And here goes the teardown.....

front bay when I started

wiper motor and suspension removed

front end torn off for the '02 headlight conversion

cruise control motor and wiring removed

evaporator and both condensers removed

pulled the rear support beam(with engine mount) to degrease. Gross stuff....

started removing insulation in the wheel wells. This stuff is a pain!

beginning

in process-this represents a solid two hours scrubbing...

rear bumper pulled-also with the Taitec GTLW exhaust polished(removed now)

interior stripped out. I'm pulling the sound deadening, gutting the trim, and reinstalling with race seats

quarter panels removed-also have my Tein RA's out being rebuilt. They had to be shipped to Japan so I won't see them for another 3-4 weeks.

front end completely stripped

sunroom being filled up with NSX parts. I'm sure this makes the wife happy, lol

..and here is pic of the kit I am installing. No I am not doing chrome wheels or gullwing doors but it's the best pic of the front end/fenders I have at the moment.

will update the thread once the parts start going on.

Matt

Wow there is going to be some $$$ in this build. Good luck. I've heard the the '02 headlight conversion isn't as easy as other front end swaps.

Hi there,

For the time being the bottom end is staying stock, although i'll be running an STMPO turbo kit. Should keep me somewhere around 400-450 whp. I'm also trying to get the car down to approximately 2600 lbs so it should make for a fun combo.

Yep, that's me. Here is a pic of the Volvo a few months back with the newly installed Iforged Aero's. Actually in the process of selling the car now which is helping to fund a portion of the NSX build.

LOL, i'm just an average working stiff. Worked at a tuning firm in Philadelphia while I was still there. I was re-activated in the military(Coast Guard) and am up in New Hampshire now.

NSX > TVR (which you'll never have in the states anyway). Don't be mad that my car is epic. When we cruising again?!

Wow, looks like a ton of work, but I'm sure it will pay off. I love the NSX-R hood- I used to work at an Acura dealership and saw a white NSX that came in for service with that hood. Good luck with the build!
