Scientists find Hell?

I don't want this to turn into a religious debate (although a friendly, respectful discussion is certainly welcome), I believe everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions, but I found this posted on another forum I'm on, and as a believer of a higher power, I found this quite interesting and chilling... I thought some of you may find it interesting as well... I'll bet someone could write a pretty interesting horror story/movie around it...

I feel I should warn you (as the presenter in the audio does) that it may be disturbing...

Has anyone ever heard this? Back in the 80's, some Russian scientists were drilling into the earths core, about 14 kilometers (9 miles or so), they dropped a highly sensitive microphone down the hole to listen to the earths plate movements and heard screams. Here are a couple articles:

I am only able to listen to the audio on my phone and I can't make a real assesment because the quality is crappy. But I don't believe it at all. That could have been recorded anywhere. But again, I need to hear it at home in a better setting to actually take in the full audio and it's quality and rawness if you wanna call it that.

Plus there's no proven evidence like Scapegoat said.

I will agree that it could be a cool movie maybe.

I believe in a heaven and hell but I've never thought either one was actually on earth.

after listening to the audio, and reading the articles... i think you should be banned for posting this.

as a believer of a "higher power"... how can you find this interesting and chilling... or even disturbing? oh wait... thats right, because you, as a person of faith, require no actual evidence... just some random audio found on the internet and a few crappy websites saying so...

people that have even have a remote inkling of belief that this could be real, do the human race an grave injustice

If you've got such a giant problem with the thread, hit the little report button there, but you don't need to be an asshat and start attacking me and my personal beliefs just because you don't agree with them... especially when you have no idea what my actual beliefs are... thought I made it clear at the beginning of the thread that I didn't want it to turn into a religious argument.

If, for some reason this thread DOES get locked, I'll assume it's due to the best judgment of the moderators and therefore would apologize for posting it where it didn't belong.

please explain to me your beliefs and how they lead you to be moved, even an inch, in regards to this audio and these websites?

I'm not trying to start an argument... but come on... there isn't one single solitary ounce of pure, unbiased, tested, accurately recorded, evidence in any of that

i finally got out of class and listened to the audio it would be pretty cool if that was actually real to know there was some form of hell but that would make a good movie id watch it

or i could hope for an intelligent reply from the OP... as i said, i don't understand how someone can put some, even a small amount of belief in something presented to them that has no real evidence, of any kind... I assume its my analytical mind that is just reeling from this... i need some form of proof... the stuff given above... just isn't... anything... its some random audio... and highly biased websites

It just doesn't make sense. I think my question is certainly valid... i do apologize for how i originally presented myself though... i suppose it was more of a "wtf?!?" kind of attack versus actually meaning to be a douchebag...

I don't generally like to discuss my faith in great detail, but I will tell you that for the exact reason you mentioned (lack of proof) I struggle with my faith a lot... believe me, I'm a thinker too and there are so many questions left unanswered, and sometimes, as crappy as it may sound, I often find myself thinking that I believe "just in case" while I know that's not the way it should be.

However, in reference to my original posting, things like this put me in a particular mindset for it to kind of reach me on a mental level even if I don't put much stock in it (as stated before, I've never believed that heaven and hell were on earth)... I remember a couple years ago, finding a picture somewhere that said there seemed to be a ghost in it... now I certainly don't buy into the ghosts and haunted house thing, but since I find it interesting, I remember studying the picture pretty carefully for a bit and was unable to find any such appearance of a ghost, until suddenly it just kind of popped out at me and I couldn't believe I could have missed it, even when I had looked at that section of the picture several times before... which might sound entirely stupid, but I recall once I realized that there had been a supposed ghost in the picture that I hadn't noticed before, it became eerie to me, much like this sound clip did.

I found it interesting for those reasons, and I thought others may feel the same, which is why I posted it.

I agree that the sound clip could have been made my anyone, anywhere, at any time... I am not saying it's fact by any means, but I'm also wary enough to not completely discredit it either.

With that echo, it sounds like it was recorded at an indoor public pool haha. I don't believe it, but it would make an awesome video game.

thanks timp for a better understanding. its good to question... even your beliefs and faiths... especially those. i think my biggest issue with this is the obvious lack of anything of substance. a picture or scientific paper would be much better
