Damn Deer!!!!!

So Saturday night i was driving down 476 south bound and dont ya know a deer jumps over the center barrier and BAM right into my driver side headlight!! So i continued onto the valley forge service plaza where i find out that i can barely shift out of 6th gear!!! So i go to down shift and find out i cant get into 5th or 4th!!! Go to park and the seat belts locked up on us!! so onto the the damage!!!

That sucks. Sadly I see hits like that every...single...day. lol. It gets old. It doesn't seem that bad, mostly superficial. I don't know the specifics of that year civic, but there's no real reason the trans should be messed up. Unless you literally bounced up and over the deer and something meaty got stuck in the suspension or axles (lol... obviously not) then there should be no ill effects to the drivetrain.

That sucks but I feel like hitting a deer at highway speeds could have been much worse... good thing it wasn't. Did you at least kill the deer?

haha theres definetly hair and blood but not noticable in the pictures. car is fixable. just got off the phone with the adjuster and so far its up to 7000. they havent totally pulled the front end off yet so im assuming they might find some other small things wrong and i should have it back in 2 weeks. thanks for the kind words.

as far as the airbag deal i would have expected something to go off. what if it was a car that hit me there and i just sheared off of the car and kept going?

aproxamently how much deceleration does it take for them to go off? wouldnt that mean since the seat belts locked that there was enough deceleration?
