You and I talking about two different subjects.. and that wasn't the point I was making either. I thought he was referring to the hanging comment made earlier about convicted criminals HERE. My point was hanging is not considered unconstitutional HERE for our criminals. He brought up the founding fathers' intent when they wrote the Constitution, and so did I. I didn't say hanging should be allowed in Gitmo because of the old drawn, hanged and quartered method, I said they didn't consider hanging cruel and unusual punishment HERE when they wrote the Constitution. He brought the founding fathers' intentions up, so it was fair game.

My mistake for misinterpreting his post if I did, but the "hanging" comment he made led me to believe he was addressing the issue of hanging as a form of capital punishment here in the United States.

I don't see what there is to LOL about besides you not seeing the point. My point was that I would gladly DETAIN 400 people if we came across 1 person that had valuable information. Does Nick Berg sound familiar? What about many of the other Americans that have been BEHEADED? That's just American's, what about the people from other countries that they behead for working with us or towards the same goal? I think our "torture" techniques are pretty civil compared to them.

We as civilian Americans have no business knowing what our Military is doing. We need to get out of their business and let them run things the way they need to be ran. The fact that things like this are publicly known, make us weaker. Letting civilians get involved have weakened our military. For example, take USMC Boot Camp, it is nothing what it used to be. And why? Because some whiny ass punk that had no business joining couldn't handle the stress, couldn't handle the abuse and cried to his parents. And his parents cried to some local politician and it steam rolls eventually having things changed. In my opinion, not for the better. I honestly thought Boot Camp was easy and should have been harder, MORE challenging MORE In your face. Why? Because this weeds out people who can't hack it, this will weed out the guy who may crack under the extreme pressure during a fire fight resulting in injuries or deaths within his Platoon/Squad.

Like I said, I don't expect you to agree with me, and now after see some posts, I don't even expect you to be able to wrap your brain around why I feel the way I do and how strongly I feel about it. That's just my Hard Headed, Politically Incorrect views.

You have a better way with the words than I do. I have to walk away from some of these threads in frustration. Some people understand freedom, what the Constitution means, and how to live by and protect both. Then there is the other 95% that stand behind the libtards and neocons. Mr.Ujoint has an understanding of what protecting freedom means. Sometimes you have to step over the line. These prisoners don't care about freedom, they hate us for it.

Unfortunately, there are only a few people on this forum that are in, or have served in the forces. CIVICS 101 3rd GRADE

From a teacher in the Nashville area

We are worried about "the cow" when it is all about the "Ice Cream"



The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching third grade this year. The presidential election was heating up and some of the children showed an interest. I decided we would have an election for a class president. We would choose our nominees. They would make a campaign speech and the class would vote.
To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class members. We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students should have.We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked to run for the top spot.
The class had done a great job in their selections. Both candidates were
good kids. I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he got lots of parental support. I had never seen Olivia's mother.
The day arrived when they were to make their speeches Jamie went first.
He had specific ideas about how to make our class a better place. He ended by promising to do his very best.
Every one applauded. He sat down and Olivia came to the podium.
Her speech was concise. She said, "If you will vote for me, I will give you
ice cream." She sat down. The class went wild. "Yes! Yes! We want ice cream." She surely would say more. She did not have to.
A discussion followed. How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn't sure. Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it. She didn't know. The class really didn't care. All they were thinking about was ice cream. Jamie was forgotten. Olivia won by a land slide.

Every time Barack Obama opens his mouth he offers ice cream, fifty two percent of the people react like nine year olds. They want ice cream.

The other fortyeight percent know they're going to have to feed the cow and clean up the mess and there really isn't going to be any ice cream.

I never once said that we are in a perfect situation, however we are in a situation and we do need to deal with it. You don't need to tell me where Ron Paul stands, I am fully aware. I am on the CFL site several times a day. I am a supporting member and becoming a precinct leader. Yes, I donate a lot of money to the cause, I do feel that strong about our Constitution.
