Did you try talking to management for a serious raise yet? Might as well try that first. Last time I did that I doubled what I was making. Of course they knew they were initially getting me for a bargain anyway. And I knew it too but at least it got my foot in the door.

i should talk to my boss, but generally since its beaurocratic, he usually has his hands tied behind his back.

When I did it I called the district manager of the area. He initially gave me the run around and told me to talk to someone else. The best thing about talking to the next person in charge was I learned what to expect. After that I just basically kept bugging the district manager till he caved, lol.

The guy I was directly working for was all for it so that made the whole process a lot easier.

Btw, I doubled what I was making, not directly through hourly compensation but through other benefits and compensation schedules.
