since theres no more ross meets, came up with a new idea

so from the loss of the ross meet alot of me and my friends where thinking, why dont we move it to either lowes in quakertown,(if they say its okay, going wesday) n if they say no we can move it to the walmart parking lot in quakertown since walmart doesnt care about there parking lots

also walmart would be a good spot there food real close by and a ton of room

who's down to make this happen?

I don't understand why no one gets this through their heads.

Forget privately owned parking lots. They get shut down, always. You either need PERMISSION from the owners of the parking lots (which won't happen from Lowe's or Walmart) or you need to have public parking (parks, etc).

Not to mention Quakertown meets never get very big, probably because they're in Quakertown.

Honestly, if you are thinking about starting a meet in quakertown I would talk to the management at the new sonic they just put up on 309 since they are usually more open to meets because of the boost in business that comes along with them. However as Sov said, any meet on a privately owned lot will likely fall to pieces if it gets too large or a few idiots decide to misbehave.

However, the Ross meet was a Montgomeryville meet and I think we should keep it that way! It's a perfect halfway point between both Quakertown and Philly and has had turn outs of epic proportions, but moving it out of the area will probably change that. We need a public park or something of that nature where we can tell the local police that we will keep it clean and not be a disturbance in order to obtain permission, also mentioning that it would keep us from racing/etc. We could then even grill up some burgers while hangin out

I miss having the meets to look forward to on Thursdays especially with the nice weather, but I'd rather wait a few extra weeks to get a legit spot than have to deal with this same issue all over again in a month. (my $0.02)

What about Windlestrae Park. It has a big parking lot and isn't far from Ross. Does it close at sunset?

the only way a new meet will get started to replace Ross is if there is someone with motivation to make it happen. the lot needs to be big, and someone needs to get permissions and run the meet to keep the bull**** out, and not let anything st stupid happen. I keep meaning to call around to see who owns what lots in the area but I haven't had time lol... and I'm not around every Thursday to make sure things are stable.

i suggested that i think someone said it closes at sunset but it has lights and there is always soccer there and honestly a cop used to sit at ross anyway why cant we get township prmission if a cop sits there. only problem is there is lots of neighborhoods around

Like Dan said, unless someone can make a meet that is 100% legit people should stop trying to make half-ass ones that are setup to fail. If you're that determined to do something just go for a cruise with your buddies.

this is what i've been working on since the demise. i've been in contact with the montgomeryville police about this spot, still waiting for a phone call with an okay.
