auto to manual swap?

well the good ol' auto to manual swap question has come to my mind. its a 1998 civic ex w/ 126,xxx miles on it.
option A is an auto to manual swap
option B is to sell it and buy a manual car (civic hatch preferably)

the car doesnt really have any problems now, everythings been fixed which makes me not want to get rid of it. and i've heard it can be done for around $500.

so my question is.. would the swap be worth it and has anyone on here had this experience on a civic?

I did it on my 240. I hate driving automatics. Did it in my driveway for like 300 bucks. Just needed the pedals, clutch master cylinder, lines, driveshaft and trans.

I had it done on my 2000 civic- make sure you have EVERYTHING covered (i.e. ecu pin out changes, 3 wire to 2 wire IACV and a 5 speed ecu are the small things i learned about during the conversion.
as far as the hw parts i had a shop do it for $500

anyone know of a good, reputable shop around the area that could help me out?

not to bump my own thread, but what are some reputable performance shops around the philly area that would be able to do this in case i wind up having a shop do it? i'm worried about complications during or after the conversion

when you guys did the conversions, did you use an aftermarket upper manual transmission mount? i'm reading about the stock one being higher so the trans won't sit right and will wear out the right axle much faster

Just go to a junkyard and pull off all the mounts, linkages, and wiring from a manual Civic. This way, everything bolts up.
