Well not really, but one of my Scorpions gave birth earlier this week. It's hard to take a count because they are so small and bunched together but their are at least 13.

The other female of that species is beginning to look plump as well so I may end up with another bunch in a few months Guess thats what happens when you keep one male and 2 females in a single tank.

Their isn't really a set amount of time. It all depends on the mothers health, temperature and if they feel comfortable with the enviornment so it can be anywhere from 4 months to almost a year.

I plan on keeping as many as I have room for. If I am right about the other one being gravid I may have to sell off a few of them.

When I first started keeping scorpions that was a big concern of mine but only one has gotten out in like 10 years and it was my own fault (wiggled out of the forceps when I was taking him out to change the substrate). If you take the proper precautions it's something that you really need to concern yourself with.

its not one of those things where the female mates with the male and then kills him? haha thats what i'd imagine, but i guess not...
i had a hamster when i was younger and he got out of his cage a couple times. i dont think i'd be responsible enough to care for scorpions.
i guess that brings me to the question... are these all poisonous? deadly?

The ones in the pic are Arizona Bark scorpions (Centruroides excilicauda) and are concitered deady but they have the weakest venom of any species in the deady category. Most pet shops don't normally have dangerous species (they all have venom but most scorpions are relatively harmless to adults) but if you ask them many are willing to order them for you. I personally get mine online, you can find just about any species (even deathstalkers; the most venomous scorpion species) you want and they are much cheaper than going to pet shop.

i dont want to offend you so i'll leave the details out, but what would be the explanation of a person eating a full scorpion, cooked, and not suffering any ill effects? does the venom disapate or is it drained, or do you have any idea? not sure if this should really be posted here, but you seem like the guy to ask.

19.A tiny amount of liquor on a scorpion will make it go mad instantly and sting itself to death.
