Philadelphia Eagles trade Donovan McNabb to Redskins

Makes no sense at ALL. I mean, I could see Buffalo or Oakland, since we would NEVER see him again. But why to a division team??

A draft pick for this year..... and a conditional draft pick for next year.

I am still trying to wrap my head around this..... doesn't make ANY sense at all. I mean, why trade one of the top QBs in the league, for a draft pick????

And, to a division rival?

It's obvious they're trying to rebuild. They started rebuilding the rest of the core and now it's time for McScrub to go. Why are you guys so surprised?

Love it, can't believe they got a 2nd rounder for him...totally worth it. Could you imagine after all this him playing for the Eagles this season on a 1 year deal, talk about awkward and a straight up sign of disrespect to have a former franchise QB on a 1 year deal...this move HAD TO BE DONE. Kevin Kolb was brought here to succeed McNabb, and now it's his time....

It's time for rebuilding, if you don't like the fact the eagles are probably not gonna be a contender, don't watch them....

I agree that they are rebuilding(I said it in a post) and that they won't be a contender. But, contention is not the only reason to watch the Eagles. They're my team and I will watch them 14-2 or 2-14 =)

I can't begin to explain how pissed off I am by this move. First we give away Brown and Gocong, and now this. Even putting aside me not being 100% sold on Kolb, why in the world would you trade a competent QB within your division to an organization that hasn't had stability at the position in years.

No one is 100% convinced on Kolb, itsStock69. But, from watching him last season you can say that he is not all bad news.

Kolb was supposed to be a successor to McNabb, but we still don't know how well Kolb will work over starting 16 games.

For me, its not a shock that he is gone, but where he went. I thought that Oakland, or maybe Buffalo would of made more sense for the Eagles orginazation, so you don't play against McNabb twice a year.

Its not all bad news, but we really don't know how he can handle the pressure of a starter.

There was an article on NFL.com about McNabb, that is actually interesting to read. The guy handled ALL of the critism, and bull**** that us Eagles fans have given him since he was drafted. And, did it with class.

I wish McNabb the best in the future, just not against Philly.

im not surprised, i knew he'd get traded. im just surprised they sent him to a division rival they face twice a year, and who has beaten us with a scrub quarterback.

And the Eagles brought him in to replace McNabb and after those starts they can't just keep McNabb and get rid of Kolb, just in case Kolb actually turns out to be Aaron Rodgers or something...

THE EAGLES AREN'T A VERY GOOD TEAM WITH MCNABB, They're not much worse off without him IMO, it's time for it to be Kolbs team and I'm excited to see how the kid can do....

yeah, but at some point, you need to hand the reigns over....I think they did it at the right time. I'm ready to watch him for 16 games, no matter what he does it will be less painful than watching McNabb get us to the playoffs every year and go no further...
