So WTF .. ? SOLVED!

Checked the mail a few mins ago. There was a small USPS package in there with my name, address. Had no idea what it was, though figured I ordered something and forgot about it. Opened it up to find a Black Berry cover and some cleaning cloth? No invoice. Return address is some guy and his address comes back to a shopping center in California. I find this rather odd.. Anyone had this before? I'm checking my bank account tomorrow to confirm I don't have weird charges...

EDIT: Just confirmed no weird charges on my account...

EDIT 2: So I get a PM on my Jeep forum:

Quote:
Did you check your Facebook about the green BlackBerry case? It was mine. Your address was still attached to my paypal acct from xmas.
hahah...

Nah no Black Berry. I doubt this POS is worth anything much.

This is basically it:

if you found the name/place that shipped it, i'm sure its not hard to find a phone number or website - especially if it came from a shopping center. Get the phone number and call them to find out what the deal is...

Weird.

This happen to my friend months back, Except it was a CD filled with all un-edited pornography films with a ton of porn stars, From some studio that was suppose to be sending it to get edited, then sold in tons of different copies/episodes or what every they do with it all when finished. He told me that there were hundreds of all un-edited video's, And it was very, very strange that he got that package LOL. I don't even know what he ever did with it. Hopefully got rid of it all ahahaha.

This will probably sound absolutely insane, but could be something to look into.

I read an article about people shipping drugs through ups and usps. The criminals address a "package" to an address, then wait for it to be delivered and steal the box off their porch. This way if the package would be discovered, they are not linked to it in any way.

It is *possible* that this is some type of discreet/random test, where the criminals could study your habits like when you come home from work, if you use your front door, how often your around, etc.

Don't mean to put bad ideas out here, but its always a possibility.

Or maybe I'm just a sleepless idiot.

That's hilarious about the porno. I would've called them if I had a number, and told them. Hoping to get some cash out of it hahaha.

The return address is a dude with an address/PMB. No store name listed, no phone number listed, nada.

I work in the Autoparts Aftermarket for a mail order company. We have a pickup counter in West Chester but 90% of our orders ship out via UPS, and sometimes FedEx and the USPS. This does happen with products often. People will attempt fraud, even going so much as to ship and item with a stolen credit card to the address of the card holder. They find out when UPS "normally" delivers, and will be there to intercept it before the card holder returns home. So yes, that in fact does happen. Now, with drugs and such, I have no idea.

But this particular package is a USPS package and was placed inside my mail box. If it were a UPS package or something larger it would've probably made more sense.

Back around Christmas the forum moderators and myself (I'm the Admin on the forum) did a gag-gift exchange. So my address was still the last one used on his PayPal when he ordered that case. So, it was sent to me.
