Blown 13B Update - GOOD NEWS!!!

So it turns out my lucky ass DIDNT blow an apex seal...

The fuel injectors were dirty, and my fuel pump (which is engaged via a switch on my dash) was ****ed up (OK now)...

The engine was just completely flooded and gunked up. I got new plugs and a new fuel filter...and whatever else constitutes a "rotary tune-up" lol (and Jim also threw on my Mazdatrix diff mount) and it is running fine. I need new injectors (or an injector cleaning) in the near future.

THANK GODDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!

I should have her back on the road very shortly...

-a very happy Jeff

Sweet! Thank god it was only the fuel pump and other things. You can probably take your injectors to Keith at KG since its right down the road from you. I would definetly get them professionaly cleaned. That way you know if they are flowing what they are supposed to be flowing.

What are you going to do for the pump? Walbro or another stocker?

If you still have the check valve in your fuel pump, take it out. That way the fuel lines have no line pressure and there is no chance of fuel leaking into the combustion chambers when the car is not running. I am much more of a fan of running without a check valve, then wiring a switch to the pump.

I was wondering what was happening til Frank mentioned it last night.

Good to hear you don't need the rebuild.
