the progress on my wheels

i finally took pics of the one mugen wheel i have 99.9% stripped. i got the wheels with chipping paint. it has taken me about 4 hours to get to this point. all i have to do now is figure out what color i want to paint them, or maybe just clear the raw metal
how they looked when they got here

voila

lemme know what you think and post up some color suggestions if any

Did you post this on Honda-tech? You would probably get reamed for stripping down RnR's... They are wheels, expensive, but wheels.

I love those wheels. Figure out what you want to do, and paint them, keep them paintless, whatever you feel will look cool. Hell, I've painted my wheels blue before for fun.

i posted it in the wheel/tire forum. when i got the wheels the original black w/ red lip was painted over by M.O.B. works in socal. they were painted satin black and the painted the beaded lip silver. the paint on the lipi was chipping (refer to 1st pic) so i decided to take them down to the bare metal. now i have a decision to make between just clearing the raw metal and putting a red pinstripe on or painting them white

trg is the only powdercoater i trust and he only does solid colors. but im not getting them powdercoated because he media blasts the wheels and it will ruin the wrinkled finish of the wheel. then after i got them done in black i would have to paint a red lip over top of fresh powdercoat, or have the lip milled and then repaint that. overall, its not worth it and the black/red isnt really my thing. i had the x's on my car and it just didnt work out. need something different

If they are authentic Mugen wheels I woulda kept them the original color. But since you already stripped them, I say black with red lip. Then just grab a set of Rays extended lugnuts in Red, nice combo.

Hello. Remember me? I just spoke to you a few hours ago about powder coating your wheels. I am a TST vendor on here. Let me know what color you would like to go with when ready. Feel free to stop by the shop also. I stock over 100 colors and have samples for each in the office. Bring the car by if you can and I can make some suggestions.
