i guess i'll make a journal here because i always forget about this website and i'd like to remember to post here more often.

i've had a civic, miata, subaru, mustang, now i'm onto my first old person car that isn't slammed or fast. but it'll become a little fast and a little low.. it's a good DD more importantly though.

anyway, i picked this up more or less with a blown headgasket as i was informed.. getting to work on that ASAP.

it's a 98 CRV EX AWD 5MT.

it's got a JDM B20B block, and a ported and polished GSR head with JDM ITR cams and skunk2 cam gears and intake manifold.

i need to get a chipped GSR ecu and tune it, it breaks up a little bit but pops vtec mad hard! right now it has a civic Si p2t ecu.

plans:

sort out everything on the motor.. catch can, refinish the vc, intake, power steering bracket, chipped P72 ecu..
oem 3 spoke steering wheel if it fits.
new shift knob.
de-tint.
ski/snowboard rack with fairing (and stickers)
a drop.
wide, concave wheels.
down the line, painted champ white.

Rare 5 speed AWD. If I could find one, it'd be swapped all over into a eg or something lol. Good luck with the car.

here's some more pics..

it's kind of beat so far, not much to see. the engine bay is a mess, i'm not bothering with that until i fix the head gasket or wherever the oil leak is coming from. i'm gonna pull the valve cover and get it tapped for two an fittings for the catch can i bought. while the vc is off i'm gonna powder coat it type-r wrinkle red and i'll try and start cleaning up the wiring. i'm not gonna tuck it, i need to clean it up a little bit definitely though. it's a mess. after it's a little cleaner and the leaks are gone or pretty much gone i'll powerwash the engine bay.

oil leaks suck...this is like 3 or 4 days worth of parking in the same spot with no rain.

Are these good on gas? And anything you gotta look for if your looking to buy one. I may look into one as a first car.

Great cars but extremely rare to find a 5spd AWD.

it seems decent on gas so far.

the only thing i don't like about it is the front seats are uncomfortable.

new cometic B20v headgasket, new OEM dizzy, installed a catch can...solved most of the oil leaks, needs a new cam seal and i'll be good.

Really nice! I've always really liked the 1st gen CRV. We recently sold ours to someone who wanted a turbo project. Please keep us updated on your progress.

i knowwww.... ugh, i would love to slam this on coilovers and try to fit 18x10 wheels, but i've decided i'd just rather put that money into a different car and daily this. it's not that fun to drive but popping vtec at 5800 and spinning it to 8200 is pretty funny...
