if you want to arrange something while its down here then talk to me, i can hook it up for a real good price. on second thought you should really wait at least a week but preferably two after the install to let the springs settle before getting an alignment.

i'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one bryan.....you really should get the alignment done right away
1)your tires are going to wear right off the bat and very quickly if the toe is out enough and
2) settling springs isn't going to change toe what so ever....if anything it MIGHT change the camber....but the springs shouldn't have to settle such a drastic amount to throw the camber specs out of alignment

Yea the settling of the springs shouldnt throw off the camber specs all that much. But like R33 said toe might be a problem, and that could eat ur tires pretty bad.

everything i've always heard is that you should let the suspension settle after installing springs. before you pull the struts off the car you mark the camber bolts and put them back in about the same way. 2 weeks a a couple hundred miles worth of driving isnt going to do much to your tires as long as you're not throwing a couple autoxes in there, etc. i'd rather have my alignment off for 2 weeks than for the next year cause my specs changed after a premature alignment.
but hey, everyone has different philosophies.

If you get the lifetime alignment at firestone you can go everyday and get your car realigned for free. It is only like 100 something. Well worth it in the long run especially if you are always raising and lowering your car or hitting pot holes.

yeah I know someone at firestone who is cool with whatever I bring him. He lets me sit in the car so it is excat and also even lets me put my slicks on and then get my car aligned with them on.

yea, toe kills tires, not camber, but chaning springs won't change toe, so its a mute point

in theory you're right changing springs shouldn't change the toe....however, everytime a damper is pulled off, when it goes back on and is thrown onto the track the toe always manages to be out of spec

mike...not sure who you heard that from but i would never drive a car that was out of alignment any further than absolutely necessary.....having the toe out of spec will destroy your tires before you even know it......the camber will remain the same even after the springs settle

as for camber bolts.....unless they are stock eccentric bolts on the car i've always advised people to stay away from them....i've seen and heard about cars that had their aftermarket camber bolts (crash bolts) work themselves out and crash......that's why they're called crash bolts

Daniel

btw, if anybody wants to go to one of the best front end specialists in the philly area let me know....Mickey's Suburban Alignment has been taking care of my cars for over 2 years....tires, balancing, alignments, track alignments......they are the best. no they aren't 40 bucks or whatever but to be perfectly honest, you do pay for what you get and i have no problem paying them more money than an NTB or Firestone.....all of those shops are like Maaco shops.....a few of them actually have techs that know what they're doing....but the majority of them just put out junk (no offense to anyone who works at those stores)

depends where you're located because the Tires Plus in Berwyn, PA, where me and LittleG work has an alignment tech that has been doing alignments for about 30 years and he gets them perfect

I've been doing my own alignments. In my subaru, I just max out the negative camber, then zero the toe with two boards & a tape measure. My nissan can't even adjust camber, so it definately doesn't need a 'lazer' alignment.

I'm going to take my autocross car to Bimmerworks (in West Chester) before next season for alignment & corner weighting. It's a BMW shop, but the owner is an autocrosser.
