I've skated on and off for about 7 years. More off than on for the past few years but I can still do a bunch of tricks. If you wanna get something cheap then just go with a ccs board. They aren't the best but they aren't horrible, I've used one a few times and didn't mind it. It just didn't have a lot of pop

Main reason why I won't skateboard. The bigger you are, the bigger the pain.

BAM! Nuff said! http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...rson2k/0_1.jpg

My older brother skated big time back when it first started getting popular. I was so little that I couldn't do anything but sit on a board and go down hills, but I would always go out with him and his friends and watch. Because "professional" skaters just started to come up, it was normal to run into them on the streets and skate with them. Once we ran into these guys, they were promoting the launch of THe Firm and were just out skating and we happened to be in the same spot. They gave everyone a free tape and they all signed it. My brother used to skate with Pink too, as funny as that sounds. I never really got into it though, I was always more interested in Traditional Sports.

I used to skateboard from about 11-17. The best boards I ever had were Toy Machine and Zero (hence the screen name) so I'd recommend them.

I used to save all my boards that i broke and wote on them how they broke and if i would get it again. i must of had about 40+ boards till my mom started tellin at me to throw them out. I still to this day have my favorite boards hanging up in my room(broken of course.) as for companys..

Alien Workshop-Love these boards great all around.
Flip-Fantastic boards lots of pop sturdy IMO more for street use.
Powell blanks- Great all around boards cheap when dollers are low.
Toy Machine-I like them they were good heavy it seemed to me. very sturdy tho.
infinite-was given to be by a pro when my board broke at a skatepark long ago. lasted forever, snaped the tail kickingfliping a 5 set. and hung it up.

I skated from the time i was 10 til i turned 19,after a long struggle i finally got enough balls to send in a few vids to flip and they sent me a team board, which i was stupid stoked for, until i broke it a week later.

I gave up skating after two busted knees one broken ankle, and this bad boy

Realizing i have to be able to run for my career path,it was a wise decision.

This. Hit the nail on the head. You can pick up a brand new CCS complete for $70 and they're not bad... and not the best.

I also used to skate big time! Its all's I thought of and all's I did. This was awhile ago though during the LOVE park days, city hall, Ivyland skate park, etc etc. I was all about street until I sat on a City Hall handrail, Then onto mini ramps in Ivyland. I mostly skated Blanks because they were cheap and I preferred a fresh board for better pop.

Anyway, check out this site, you can buy blanks or custom build a board. I got one like a year ago that's sitting in my trunk collecting dust ha!

http://www.boardpusher.com/bp/

Also flip threw ebay

I've owned a board for years (World Industries) but I never got any good on it... when I was using it most heavily, it was basically to get from point-to-point on campus faster. I broke my ankle in high school trying to snowboard on an aluminum skateboard deck (minus trucks, etc.)... I was calling it "snateboarding"
