I just bought a nikon d5000 today. I'm just starting to get into photography and want to know if anyone knows some good sites to buy accessories. I need to get a case and a lens cleaning kit asap. I would also like to look into possible spare batteries.

i would check out local stores, but i'm in japan. everything in japan is wayyyy over priced.

use the banner ad for b/h and adorama in the sticky to support TST if you choose one of those sites

Calumet is local if you need to see the gear in person.

BH is great, Amazon is great, Newegg is great (depending), but if you need something fast New York Camera on street road has most things and I've found their prices to be relatively competitive w/ BH on MOST things.

i prefer adorama these days. they seem to have a wider selection of used gear. B&H is great as well.
