I just manned up... Canon 5D Mk2 w/ Grip + Battery

Man I hope I like it. I am excite for FF and 1080p video thru an SLR. But, the 21MP image has to be excellent...

I already have:

Canon 50D w/ Grip + batteries
Canon 16-35mm F/2.8L
Canon 50mm F/1.4L
Canon 70-200mm F/4.0L
580EXii flash
etc

So I will now be able to use 16mm! I am so pumped... though a little scared that I just dropped big dollas... but whatever.

I am excited to get it for the meet coming up! I can't wait!

Thanks man - so the question is, do I unload the 50D or keep it as a backup/zoom camera?

I've actually been thinking about making a little 5dmkII savings accounts lol. Backup camera probably wouldn't be a bad idea, A lot of people usually unload there old to help pay for the new. But it looks like you already ahead! ha.

I don't know what the 50D body + battery grip + 2 batteries goes for used... I am sure its decent... just not sure if its worth unloading or hanging onto... it is a decent camera afterall..

Congrats I love mine.

Canon 16-35mm F/2.8L
Canon 70-200mm F/4.0L
i would have swapped the Fstop on these lenses and went with the 17-40mm F4.0L. It's half the price and F2.8 in that wide of a lens isn't too useful. Where as having the F2.8 on the 70-200 is awesome. But either way they are all amazing lenses and an awesome body.

I would hang on to the extra body unless you are in need for cash. Having two setups is very useful.

Actually the 16-35 mk2 2.8 is very very sharp @ 2.8, i love it!

The 70-200 i bought back in college... I don't shoot zoomed indoors much so F4 seemed reasonable.

I just realized this comes with a free 16GB Sandisk Extreme card and a lowepro shoulder bag... thats pretty awesome.

That is manning up, I haven't grown hair on my balls yet to make that move eventhough I keep staring at it. I want to unload my 40D so I can get a 24-70L

The video at 1600 - 3200 is nutso! Its so clear! Love this thing.

I know the pictures nothing special im just testing ISO and wowowow. 6400 is like my 50D's 1600.

Keep the 50D as a 2nd body; less hassle of having to swap lenses.

i say sell the extra body unless you need it for weddings, or things you need to switch lenses really quick for.
but if you sell, u can have more money for more glass.
the M2 is beast, one of the best cams around. have fun man!
