Ok guys, I'm new here, but a friend of mine goddabob turned me onto this site. I have been building cars for about 10 years now, started out with Hondas, then DSM 2nd Gen. AWD, then FD RX7, Then DSM Evo VIII, etc. you get the point. Well I've owned a 04 Infiniti G-Coupe for 2 years now. The car is basically stock, other than a nice set of 20" staggered 3-piece Petrol wheels (tsw high end line) it is a beautiful combo of Black on black leather, 6MT, Brembo brakes, 306hp Revup motor, aero package, and is my DD with 75,000miles. I have been pondering a LSX swap since I got the car, but am quite impulsive and always loved the bulletproof MKIV 2jz-gte vvti engine, so I had a couple grand after selling my 408 Stroker motor from my stang, and I bought a 2jz-gte. I am now having the bottom end 3/4 built on a budget. Its about 1000.00 ACL bearings, ARP hardware, internals balanced, and a new set of stock bore MAHLE powerpak forged pistons thown into the mix. (Pistons were not included in price, just installed and balanced. I wouldve also done rods, but like I said its a budget, and this set up is proven to handle 800hp, and I like to push it to the limit. 1JZ pistons came from factory forged and is a yamaha motor actually, but 2j owners not so lucky, I shouldve done more research before hand) Since my bottom end is out, I am building the head, 5-angle valve job, ferrea titanium valves, springs-retainers, HKS cams, and adj. cam gears, and I am performing all the P&P work myself. I am also running an ebay header, and if my GSXR sells in the morning I am ordering AEM EMS, GT42R turbo, triple denso pumps, 1200cc injectors, and Snow Meth. Inj kit. I am building a custom SS 4inch DP, and full 4" SS exhaust as well.. The only thing I am working on is my trans. options. I want to keep the car manual, and the getrag v160 MKIV trans are so expensive, so I could have my infiniti 6MT built, and a custom bell housing made to mate it to the 2j, or go with a R154 5-speed, they are very cheap, or a custom bell housing on a Tremec T-56, can handle allot of power, but is also expensive.. I will have pics up as soon as I take them, and updates shortly.
