im all for 240s too there cheap and easy to mod but i dont think you should get a rwd car for your 1st car its not very forgiving esp in the rain, and u can forget about driving it if there's snow out

I have been looking on craiglist everyday and never find any good 240's for a good price. And I am over with the Honda's don't want to get my first car stolen.

stay away from 240s. get something front wheel drive and that works. its stupid to dump money into something that youll most likely wreck eventually.

Honda's are where it's at. If you're smart, the first mod you'll do to any investment (read: car, money, etc) you'll protect it. Your first mod should always be an alarm for any whip, IMHO. Grab a non-turbo DSM. They're cheap, good on gas, super forgiving (especially if you're learning to drive stick), and they're good looking with plenty of aftermarket.

Subaru! Awesome sounds with very little exhaust work, AWD, fairly cheap and easy to work on, and not stolen Plus if you shop around you can get a deal on one like me from an old lady.

Not everyone wrecks their first car.

I don't know about that. I am not really a fan of Saturn's.

I would just be worried about my car if I got a Honda. In school at the mall I would Always be worrying. And for the DSM I am fan of the older Talon's.

whats your budget?
what are you interested in?

to be honest... you posted this thread to ask everyone else, but you're the only one who can really answer the question, especially with the little info you've given.

i would highly recommend just getting something cheap, gas efficient, and fwd for the time being. everyones first car gets some abuse in one way or another and no you will not be an exception. if you really want a project down the road then my next recommendation would be to be patient and save until you can do what you really want to do, and do it right the first time. so many people sink money into sinking ships... so much effort into polishing a turd and after tons of time and money they dont have much to show for it.

Now you're cookin' with gas. Non-tubo, 150K, and it belongs to another member now, and she never gave me a problem. FWD, 5MT, cheap on gas, cheap on insurace. They can be had all day for >3000. I'm with Bryan, though. Give yourself a budget, then work in that.

However, we're all polishing turds, boss-man. 600hp Supra, and I bet it still runs 12s.

lol

After all, to non-car people, they're just cars.

My budget is about $3,200. Really I am interested in alot of cars. I don't want a big project car but I want something I can mess around with and learn alot from messing around with it.

It's all in the driver, kid. But you're probably thinking about the dreaded "crank-walk" but that only happen to fools with turbo engines. My old one (the one posted) and any of the non-turbo second-gens had the Chrystler 420a motor, same as a Neon. Maintence is key to any car.
