Might as well try here too. Vf rebuild?

Well noticed last week my Vf34 is leaking out the center section and no it's not the oil line. That is bone dry. I was really hoping I could send it out and get worked along with obviously resealing it. Thought I heard deadbolt was no longer and what I thought was true. Checked out FP also and they only rebuild their turbos and MHI turbos. Figured I'd throw it on here to see if anyone knows of anywhere else that are capable. Lucky for me I'm pretty sure I'll have a vf39 for backup but we'll see. I was really hoping to work this turbo a little and see what it can do.

Is it an IHI? I heard the IHIs can't be rebuilt, but I'm not 100% sure if that's accurate.

Call up Blouch...I don't think the IHI can be rebuilt, but they do offer a compressor wheel upgrade IIRC....so maybe they can fix it.

Yeah if I remember correctly they don't offer a rebuild kit for that turbo but there were some places that had found the parts to take care of it. The company that comes to mind though was Deadbolt so I'm not sure. Man I loved that company... I think they were too thorough and giving and just didn't sell enough quantity to make it all work.

People always say this. The center ball bearing section can't be rebuilt. As long as the center section is fine though you can reseal it and like deadbolt did a bigger compressor wheel, clipped turbine wheel, and a port job for cheaper then it would be buying a new turbo.

Thanks! If they can do a vf40 then they should be able to do a 34 or a 39...at least I'd think.

Haha, well the way it worked out I pretty much spent nothing on both turbos. Plus not trying to drop 1g on a new turbo because I don't want something big.

Yeah, that's why I said I wasn't sure if that was accurate because there are plenty of other parts to the turbo that can be redone. Glad everyone chimed in here to debunk it.

Well I sent out two e-mails. One to blouch and one to bnr. Bnr is the only one to get back to me. Basically he does a 1, 18, and 20g upgrade using the vf housing. And this sounded really great for me since I wanted to keep the 34. But his prices range from the lowest being 750-1050. So I look around and talk to some people and found the HTA68. 800 or so bucks. Perfect for what I'm looking to accomplish. I figured it would have been more then that. So I'll probably get a quote to reseal that 34 and clean it up and part ways with it.

Bnr will not just do a reseal. Kinda sucks because I wouldn't mind have it laying around or just sell it. Just gonna have to throw on the 39* till I pick up a hta68.
