Volvo Wagon w/ Ferrari Emblems

Haha it was a white Volvo wagon, with ferrari emblems on the fenders, it actually made me laugh, looked lowered, saw it on the parkway.

It was most likely the prancing moose, everyone on Volvospeed.com catches hell for having them on the cars.....I don't care much for them but some people do and that's their choice.

If you're talking about NJ there is quite a few enthusiasts down that way.......

Don't be so fast to laugh at the cars.......a TD04HL family turbo upgrade, turbo back exhaust and decent tune tend to give the Swedish luxury cruisers the power to surprise.

Not to mention our cost/time and effort spent to horsepower ratio is far superior to the average sports car, that being said I think a little respect is due.

Where exactly did you see this? I used to work over in NJ (East Windsor) at AAP and there was a guy that did work on Ferrari's and he had a **** load of them all over his beater Volvo Wagon.

It was a white wagon, and it was a girl driving it, I wasn't laughing at it, I never laugh at things I don't know what they have under the hood, lol. It was more of a laugh wondering what the hell it was, cause it seemed lowered. It was near exit 90ish, though I could be wrong, I was driving from South Jersey to North Jersey so it was a while.

Its actually a semi-inside joke among volvo owners. You will often see them on totally stock beaters and sometimes on those that are more heavily modded (I did rock them for a bit but no longer do).

The story behind them:
Quote:
Understanding how this whole moose thing evolved.
Moose History 101: When the XC90 debuted in 2002, Volvo organized several test drive events, where quite a few Volvo fans came out to see and drive the new SUVs on fast cone slalom courses. Volvo was showing off their new and advanced Dynamic Stability Traction Control (DSTC), a first of its kind for an SUV. One of the courses was a special slalom, where a professional driver would take a carload of folks, accelerate to a high speed (60 mph if I recall correctly), keep his foot firmly planted on the gas... to the floor, and then crank the wheel as fast as he could one direction, then the other. This dangerous maneuver simulated the avoidance of an obstacle in the road, such as a moose (even though it was really just some cones). The DSTC was truly an amazing feature. Many other tall vehicles would have certainly become very unstable and possibly lost control, spun out or even rolled over during such an extreme maneuver, but the Volvo's DSTC took over and kept the SUV in perfect form without a hint of trouble. Volvo was calling this course the "Moose Avoidance Test," which seems to be a fairly common and useful test in places that might actually have mooses running out in front of cars.

Later, when Volvo began showing their new SUV at various places, such as car expos, one of them was sporting a pair of moose stickers on its fenders, although it was a cartoon-like standing moose profile, not a prancing moose. This concept inspired me to design the Volvo Prancing Moose. So if you own a Volvo and have a sense of humor, these stickers are a must for your car. And as you can see, they are also available for our SAAB cousins and many other worthy makes of cars
Totally just for fun as we are well aware that the idea of a volvo super car is hilarious.

What about the Volvette? lol

I think that would qualify as a Volvo.....and a super car.

True, the vast majority are not super cars, but that one sure as **** is. lol

For those that are not familiar with the term, "Volvette". Search it on Youtube........

Who would have thought that mentioning a dancing moose would unleash Volvo hell =)

I'm not going to lie, I love Volvo's.
