Yet Another Inspection Question

I did a search though, and it seems like this hasn't been answered before. Didn't know where else to post this, because it seems like the "ask the law" section is officially dead.

Can you get a ticket in PA for an expired NJ inspection? (car is reg'd in NJ). Should be a pretty simple question for someone knowledgable to answer, I just didn't know where to find the info. Thanks!

Yes, my buddy got popped for that a couple months ago right on Rt. 180. Granted, he was pulled over for speeding, but the cop gave him an expired inspection ticket instead.

No. Your car is registered in NJ, you aren't violating any PA laws.

your buddy should have fought that ticket since it isn't valid? PA does enforce NJ inspection laws.

Hmm..getting mixed answers. The reason I ask is because my inspection has been out for a while, but the car doesn't leave PA. I don't even know when I'd have the time to leave the state to get it done.

Wait, they do or they don't?

Still, I suppose it's better than a 75 in a 55 ticket.

yea that's not right at all...PA can only do PA
You can acually get away with an expired PA one if you say you have been out of the state for two months or more and just got back in.

Great, thanks guys. Seems like the general consensus is that I can get away with it for a while. This makes me happy!
