looking for a body shop to paint my car

hello everybody,

My car is in need of respray but im not sure of good paint shops in the area. I would just need a basic repsray with some little rust to be fixed. I have around a 2k budget but can be higher if the quality is there. trying not to spend more than 3k for paint. so if you or someone you know does paint and body work let me know. I will most likely want the car to be painted in a month or two. woo!

they are too expensive for me. my friend was quoted 3k for a respray not including body work.

We have seen some of the more expensive paint jobs from Maaco in Montgomeryvillle and they are exceptional. We usally recommend them for peolpe who want a total respray, but are on a budget or dont want to spend alot of money. We cannot touch their prices for a full paint. Its all in what you want to spend and what your looking for

Shows alot about a place that can praise another shop and give an honest reply even when it means that they lose a job...

there are plenty of shops around.. including the one i work at, and i'm sure LIP as well.. who will give you an incredibly high quality product for around $2000-3000+, but the problem you're going to run into is with the rust. it's a huge problem that not many people know how to deal with properly... even some shops who charge a buttload for paint work. to fix rust the proper way can cost A LOT in body labor. LIP will without a doubt repair your rust properly, but you're going to pay quite a lot for it. even if it only appears to be surface rust, it can come back after not much time even if you think you got it all taken care of. while you may get a lifetime (or as long as you own your car) guarantee on your paint work, you will not get a guarantee on rust no matter where you go.

so... with no rust guarantee anywhere, if it were my car i'd take it somewhere that may cost a lot more but will more than likely do a high quality repair instead of somewhere like Maaco. Even if the paint work at the montgomeryville shop is much better than other franchises, there's no way in hell i'd pay a dime for paint work and rust repair at a place like that. that's too much of a gamble in my opinion. you can have the flattest, most high quality paint job in the world, but when the little brown bubbles reappear, you just wasted your money.

just something to think about, that's all.

A guy at my work just had his Black Grand National painted at the Maaco in montgomeryville. They did an okay job. Missed little things like dents on the roof and some paint is chipping on the fender. They re-scheduled him and said they would take care of it so we shall see
