Intake: If all the bolts are off (top and bottom) and the studs are still in just use a pry bar to pop it off.

Bottom end: If you take off the crank pulley, lower timing cover, oil pan, rear main, and crank girdle the crank/pistons/rods should all come out without an issue. You'll need to brace the hell out of the crank pulley to be able to get the nut loose without turning the motor.

I've torn apart de's not single cams but it should still work the same way.

Got the intake manifold off finally. The crank pulley is a bitch to do. It turns like you said. I gotta figure something out to get it off.

what it sounds like is the IM is just stuck, use a pry bar and jimmy it off

edit:Try using the pry bar to block off the crank rotation, and use an impact to hit the nut.

If i take the crank pulley off, the 10 bolts (did that already since pic) and the 8 piston bolts from underneath (where the oil pan was) would i be able to just take the pistons and rods right out the bottom? I really want to keep the head and springs and valves on.

As soon as you can get the crank free you can pull out the pistons/rods. To get the crank loose you need the timing cover off (which requires the crank pulley to come off) the rear main seal off, and the girdle off (just a few bolts). After that you can pull the crank out with the pistons/rods attached if you want. Since the engine is never going to run again you don't need to be very careful so feel free to use some force on it but watch out for edges, they can be a lot sharper than they look.

edit: Nearly everything will require some force to pop off just like the intake manifold did but if it feels like it's still got a bolt in it chances are you missed one.

^^^I just got back in from the garage...I tried getting the crank pulley off with my dad doing the rachet and myself holding a breaker bar in the crank area to keep it form moving but we couldn't even get it to budge....He asked me if it had reversed threads...does it? Maybe we were turning it the wrong way (we tried doing it to the left like any other thing you loosen)....we tried heating the nut too and wd40 also.

omg the carnage.......

if you want that pulley bolt out. your gonna needa a 27mm socket and a good impact gun. if that has never been out its gonna be super tight.

question why are you taking this ka24e apart?

here is a little video of me tearing down my ka..
