hey im tyring to work on one of my grandfathers old cadillacs and i need to find the vin number to register it, does anyone know besides on the inside of the drivers door where to find the vins on a 72 el dorado?

Starting in 68 they put the VIN plate on the dash, lower left hand corner....but I'm sure you looked there
