I've been saying for a couple years now that Ford is putting some of the best cars on the road today.

In the 15 months I've owned the car, it's cost me...$700-750 including the full synthetic oil changes, filters, brakes, and alignment. Nothing other. That's an extremely low cost of ownership if you ask me, especially considering that I've put 30k on it in those 15 months.

My old stang had 180,000 on it when it was sold and it still ran great, my parents big ass Ford conversion van has 240,000 on it and it still gets them down to Florida and back every year, and my Cobra has 170,000 on it, gets autocrossed twice per month every month, pounded on daily, hits 30 mpg on the highway, runs low 13's, and just keeps asking for more 7,000 RPM abuse each and every day
I got the Cobra with 111,000 miles on it and I've had it for 3 1/2 years now, I broke the trans twice by powershifting it at 7,000 RPM over and over again (which I was told ahead of time would break it) but other than that the thermostat housing needed to be replaced and the motor mounts but that's been it, everything else I replaced by choice to make it faster

It is a fun car for what it is, it's a great chassis and you can all ask the Endurance run guys from last year that I participated in, she held her own on the twisties.

^^ My lil bro just bought a new Focus, and it's light years beyond what they were. I'd agree tho american interiors are lack luster, but what do you want? Options to raise the price?

My parents had Ford trucks and we never had an issues. I know my dads F150 saw a trip from New Orleans to Houston and back to New Orleans every weekend for a few months without any problems.
And Honda has went down in quality but they are still up there. My old Honda still keeps on ticking and all I do is change the oil. Previous stuff was just do to age.

I've been braging on my Focus for a while. I've been real happy with it (minus the bs firehawks they OEM'd it with). It has 105k abused miles on it, the brakes last forever, the thermo housing blew ($250), I then replaced the clutch (about 65k), the typical 100k maintenance, and it seems to run better then ever. Hell it spent a few season teetering around the auto-X course in stock trim. It just seems I can;t break it, and I've tried(to a point).
The interior is lacking I suppose, I don't really want much. I find the seats really comfy and the interior volume is incredible, although I do have my complaints. Paint on dash flakes with chick's nails. Both seat levers that allow the seat back to flip fully forward broke (they slide forward quite a bit so it really does not bother me, maybe I've grown used to it). My fat ass forced a broken spring in the drivers seat over time, it finally tore through the fabric (I snipped it and let it be). Everything is happy, I'd like to buy another in 2011 (10years after the first). But with no signs of a wagon it may not be meant to be.
