bump in a bit of power for the solstice gxp

Since i have put off buying my dream car for a bit i have instead started doing some work on the solstice.

installed the trifecta tune today and sent some data logs to them so they can improve on the power.

stock is 220whp 220lbs tq
tomorrow it should have 290whp and 330lb tq

next week the new exhaust goes in along with a high flow cat. probably wont give me much more power. maybe 20hp and 10lb tq. it will help me to reach close to 400whp down the road if i want to take it further. i was tearing up the tires with just the first test today. got to take it easy or i will need new tires.

vince at trifecta is great. he is goinf to work with me with the tuning as i do upgrades. he is eager to learn as much about the ecotec motors as he can.

the suspension is good for a street car. i am just going to install gmpp zok sway bars to help in the corners. i already have better tires and ssr wheels. the stock tires were complete ****.

I should have added...

I am not going to change the turbo at this time. Mainly because I have not seen anyone get a real bump in power with a turbo upgrade. $3000 and only getting another 20 hp and 25lb tq doesn't seem like enough to justify it.

Without resorting to a peaky turbo the best I have seen with a turbo upgrade is 330hp and 375lb tq to the wheels.

not to much at all

tune is $600 and they will update for the car indefinetly

stainless exhaust and hi flow cat are about $1000

turbo will run about $3000

the gmpp are a bit pricey imo. 600 for just the sway bars are expensive. but those are the parts used to win scca nationals so they do work.

They have something called hp tuners but its like 400. it allowsyou to tune yourself. the direct injection is a steep learning curve and this way seems a bit better. i dont want to spend hours tning the car.

but after the porsche this is super cheap in comparison.

I have one of the first GXPs to roll off the line. So I paid way over sticker for it LOL

I still haven't seen the coupe but I have a feeling it's a little better car for everyday. Weights 50lbs more but probably way more aerodynamic and it has more room to put bags in it.

HP Tuners is about $1000 when you get a wideband with it. I wish I found it for $400 when I was shopping...

Didn't know that. Yeah not a very good deal then. $600 for the trifecta tune and it comes with a expert at tuning these cars for as long as you want. I just have to make data logs and send them to him and he makes the adjustments and sends me another tune.

From reading it just seemed the HP tuner guys are constantly messing with there cars. I just want to drive it.

I've posted pictures before I think but here is my car.

Not anymore then the next, plus there is a big learnign curve. It isn't any different they you data logging and mailed for an updated tune. Same here, we just do it ourself.

It def is scary tuning your car for the first time, hoping not to do something dumb and fry the motor.
