I don't understand why the tiburon, scion tc, and reno are on the worst vehicles to insure list. I understand the other vehicles since they are faster but don't know why those aren't. Other than maybe the tiburon cuz it's sporty but thats it.

Scion TC = ages 16-23 = worst age group of drivers = not the best crash ratings = more damage = more risk for insurance

Disclosure - 27yr old home owner with Honda Fit, 240sx, Honda Ruckus and great coverage - $800 a year!

That makes sense with the scion tc but it doesn't mention about age groups. It just says worst cars to insure. The other cars, civic si, mercedes benz and the other ones were all sport cars and made sense to be there.

I've been meaning to start shopping around for new rates too. I don't have FULL coverage on the MR2 and I really should after all the money I put into it. Get it appraised or some ****.

The majority of the cars on that list are driven by teens. Being relatively cheap, there are a lot of them on the road, so there are therefore a lot more crashes.

I still feel like guys shouldn't have to pay that much more than girls. All the girls that go to my school drive like idiots. One girl in an 09 Civic EX went in the lane going the wrong way to pass a driver doing 5+ the speed limit. And ****, I never knew girls liked big ass wings so much until I started going to Rutgers.

I agree. The vast majority of the time I see someone driving like an idiot, it's a female.

Granted, the vast majority of the time I see someone driving AGGRESSIVELY, it's a male. But the times where I sit there and go -- what in the **** is that car doing? -- it's usually a girl behind the wheel. And she's usually yapping away on her cell phone. Makes me want to throw a brick at her.

My renters insurance ($40,000 policy) and full coverage on my Mustang GT are under $100/month through State Farm. That's with one Mustang GT being totaled in December 2008 counting against me($30,000+ claim including the rental car). Of course rates may vary depending on your age and where you live.

I read something interesting about girls and automobile insurance a few years ago. Parents are more likely to not report a daughter's first car accident to insurance, if its a single vehicles accident, when compared to their sons. I'm not sure where they receievd their date, but it makes sense when thining about my friends and what happened with their first accidents.

That and girls are more likely to get out of tickets with warnings or downgraded fines... if they're at least semi attractive.

106/mo full coverage @ 24 years old.

Not bad, imo. Considering the 99 was something like 3000/yr.

That rate is nuts. State Farm's policy is they give you one free screw up if I'm not mistaken. Most other insurers would most likely jack you up.

my theory. daily driven sports car, drag racing and off roading. mostly driven by younger drivers. probably driven past its limits by people who think awd will save their ass every time.
