4 Aerocatch Latches Opinion???

Wondering peoples opinions on running 4 Aerocatch Latches (fancy hood pins). Also if its legal to ditch the hinges and hood latch?

The situation that has led me to this idea. The front end on my car fit like shiat. Fixed the fenders by replacing them off a parts car. Factory hood fit just as bad as my carbon fiber one 3/4 inch gap on one side and 1/16 on the other side. Two of the bolt holes on the carbon fiber hood are stripped and made adjusting the hood impossible.

I took the hood latch off the car and left the hood bolts loose. I was able to get a perfect 1/4 inch gap on both sides of the hood.

I hope this made sense.

The hood should fit right so i would maybe try new hood hinges and maybe a different latch. If that doesn't work I see no problem with 4 hood pins (just get the locking ones).. It would be alot easier to work on your car also being able to pull the hood completely off with ease.

Not sure of the legalities of doing it that way though. I would guess if you asked a cop they'd say no just in case, but can't imagine there being a law.

Yep going to change the hinges on monday. I swapped the fenders off my parts car and that fixed some of my fitment problems.

I am going to drill out the holes in my hood and retap them. Hopefully I can line the hood up then.

As cool as it would be popping the whole hood off I think it would get old fast. I think the hood will looked cluttered with 4 latches on it.
