ok so my roommates car battery died last night so we went to push start his car and we heard this loud BANG followed by some white/blue smoking coming out of the exhaust. we pushed it into a spot and used my car to jump start it. when we tired to turn it over it turned over fine but it was sputtering and making this sporatic BANG POP noise. almost like a M80 going off in a coffee can. heres a vid but its really quiet on my computer so play it with the speakers loud and listen closely. any ideas?

well its that but its this loud bang pop were hearing sporadically. his boost gauge is also reading 0 even at idle.

Is the loud pop/bang like from the exhaust, or from inside the motor? Blue smoke = oil. White smoke = coolant.

well we figured it out. theres this plastic piece that holds his idle control valve hose onto the IM and that broke off the hose was just hanging there. thanks alot for your input guys

Turbo maybe it's quite loud when they go and that would explain smoke...
