OT? Who wants to build a gas-turbine engine?

I've anted to take on this project for a few years now, but i think I now have Just enuough knowledge of the subject to consider working to make it a reality.

The internet is littered with sites dedicated to Jet-turbine engines built using old tubrochargers, and I'm looking for those interested in building our own.

why? because we can.

Step 1 will be collecting parts, and knowledge -
Parts needed will include:
used turbocharger in good condition - A stock TD04 or TD05H should be fine for this

ignition system - coil, some way to ignite it, i've got a few spare plugs and wires if they are compatible

oiling: some sort of oil pump and drive system?

various sizes/thicknesses of tubing - exhaust tubing and large diameter plumbing pipes seem popular choices for this.

other fittings/pipes/etc - i'm sure we have this sort of stuff lying around.

So... anyone else interested? sounds like a fun off-season project, since i dont have a garage, nor my "project car" here to play with, or the money to do so even if it were.

I am actually really interested in this too. Even though I may not be able to get much, I really want to learn some of this stuff.

Also, any plans with it?

I've also got a spare coil pack from a DSM, go figure. And I can probably get some pipes/tubes... what sizes do we need?

I can also get flanges for mitsu turbos.

Anyone have a spare turbo.... haha.
