i think i have to sell my evo

maybe you guys can help me out. (apologize for the rant in advance)\

so i left philly. bought a condo in downtown boston with no parking. i drive an evo, some of you might know the car. parking in boston, just like everything else here is just stupid expensive. the only lot within a reasonable distance is 360/month. street parking is available, well at least i think it is. i havent slept a night at my new place yet, but im getting a neighborhood parking permit.

my biggest worry is winter. a lowered evo being left on the streets in philly was one thing as it never really snows, but boston is a different story. a plow going down my block would prob. bury the car

so with that being said what do i do? what do i replace an evo with? i love this car but its just a car.maybe im overacting. maybe it wont be an issue. thoughts?

I don't know any Evo owners in Boston...but I know a bunch of Subie owners. They manage.

Yes, your car will probably be buried. I've personally seen cars in Boston with a foot of snow (or more) on the roof and completely plowed in.

Unless it's a show car, I wouldn't sweat it. Just get some winter wheels and go for it...you'll miss it in the nice weather.

You could always pick up a cheap Scoob.

an awd rally inspired car and you are scared of some snow?

I've daily driven some very low honda's in the winter without any problem.

I lived in manhattan and was able to get a spot for $220 a month. It was a good 5 minute walk from my place but I only used it once in awhile. I am sure you can find something for around $200 if you look a bit harder.

One of my reasons for moving to Hackensack. Got my spot and I pay my neighbor a whooping $50 for his.

Keep the rest at my office where I have 15 empty spots.

Obviously don't miss Manhattan much.

I don't think it's that he's scared of the snow, but if you've seen his car and it's white Advan's you'd be concerned more about the cosmetic condition. In a big city where other drivers are more likely to slide into it, more likely to get covered in snow from a plow which can be very damaging to a car...it's a nice Evo, I'd have the same concerns.

the only snow concerns i have are how low the car is and having to dig it out when i want to drive it. i dont think PA people understand what winter is like up here.
i know philly gets scared in the rain let alone the snow. when i lived there i was the taxi for my friends too worried about driving in adverse weather.
i have a set of stockers with snow tires on it.

oakes is pretty much dead on. i dont want to have to worry about the car. as for finding cheaper parking, the idea of having my car is not having to walk .5miles to get to it to go somewhere. but i am actively looking for a closer space to rent.

honestly the nicest thing about a big city is sometimes its faster to just walk there and not fight traffic. if your car is a ten minute walk away then it becomes more of a toy rather then just transportation

what is this walking you speak of?
the evo has always been a toy. i never really needed a car in downtown philly, and im sure living in downtown boston will be no different.

Get a beater and find an enclosed garage for that during the winter, if that's the evo I think it is that's a NICE car and not something I'd take out in the winter, beaters can be had for a few hundred. buy one a season if you want
