Any Good Gym Membership places/prices?

I have been going to my gym for the last 2 years and I really like the place. I like the layout of the building, equipment, and as well the people there are very nice. The only downside to my gym is the drive being 15 to 25min+ depending on how the crappy traffic is in the area. However I have learned to live with it. The few gyms that are right around my house seem very small and I wasn't impressed with there membership rates they offered me at the time.

Anyway for the last two years the owner has given me a very good deal of only $200 bucks for the entire year vs the normal $360 yearly membership rate. When I first starting going to the gym I was only going like 3 days a week due not being that crazy about working out and having a very busy work schedule. Now however I go to the gym 5 to 4 days a week. I don't go to the gym everyday so that is why I am somewhat picky about how much I am looking to spend on a gym membership.

Well my membership at my gym came due and the owner is unable to offer me the $200 buck rate again which I can understand. The best he can do however is $300 for the year. That still is saving me $60 bucks a year which isn't bad. However its just hard to go from paying $200 to $300 in one shot.

I am most likely just going to have to pay it, however I wanted to find out if there are any other places offering a cheaper yearly rate in and around Southampton Pa 18966?

A handful of my friends go to Planet Fitness but they tell me and I have seen for myself that they mostly have cardio machines vs weight equipment. Currently I am trying to find a gym that has more weight equipment vs cardio machines just like my gym is.

Its 70$/month for individual membership.

Thanks so much for the offer man. I heard Newtown club was pretty expensive but $70 bucks a month darn! However I would guess that includes more then just access to a gym with machines?

Find a Planet Fitness it's honestly like 10 bucks a month and I know of 2 locations I hear their full of cute girls and nice equipment!

Yes I have to say PF does have A LOT of cute girls. I don't think I could freaking focus on working out if I went too one. PF is a really cheap gym being they have that $99.99 a year membership I hear?


The people that go to PF which one would you recommend out of the group of them around my area?

I go to the PF in Langhorne Shopping Center. I like it, but it can get a little crowded. I haven't been to the others, but I would recommend the one in Trevose since it's closer to you. I know several people that go to that one and haven't heard any complaints. Also, I'm pretty sure that if you get PF's "black card" you can go to which ever one you want and I think it's $20/month.

Any delco guys, theres a gym thats open 24 hours thats only 20 dollars a month in glenolden. They have weights and circuit training.

I go to LA Fitness near Oxford Valley Mall. I pay I think $50 a month. I don't rememeber lol. I just pay and go.

Go to St. Mary Medical Center. I forget the price, but it isn't bad. Other than the occasional battered old f%^k doing the geriatric shuffle, taking their sweet time on a machine, it is a good place to work out.

Rascles Gym in Pottstown is $20 a month and included unlimited tanning and I can bring a friend with me every time I go. Its not all hype like a golds gym, but I like it more. Very clean.

i go to kinetix now yes thats in worcester so not near you but i pay 200 a month cuz of student discounts! the place is awesome like 20+ cardio machines and like 50 different weight machinces and benches. plus there a rock wall 1/2 a b-ball court arobics room squash and tennis courts massages and sawna in the locker rooms. its grrreat.

I work at Gold's Gym in exton and we're running an anniversary special right now that's 9.99/month for the 1st 6 months. I may be biased, but I like it. I also belong to planet fitness back home in Souderton, it's cheap but you don't get as much as if you'd go to a different club that may be a little more pricey (ex: not as much lifting equipment, no classes offered). It gets the job done when I'm home and need to work out though, can't complain!
