It's another Geroge Bush move, that no one complained about when he did it. Execpt this has a better cause. Although it's still lame

Trivial compared to the power that your "Right" guy's political crony Bush had control over in thanks to that little thing called "The Patriot Act." Did you think liberals would forget that little clamp down on personal freedoms "in the name of the greater good"?

And this bill was not proposed or written by Obama, but a senate committee, and co-proposed by a republican.

Question(s) of the year.

Who said the OP wanted the Patriot Act passed?

Why is the immediate response to "the government wants to ****ing do this next, great!"; "but Bush did this!"

Why is the immediate assumption to a post or thought against Obama that the person is fan of GWB?

Who says no one complained about Bush's Patriot Act? I didn't do it here, but I sure as **** called my local reps about it. I am certainly more vocal than ever because of the fact that I am sick and tired of all this crap being rammed into my life. Doesn't matter if you are conservative or liberal, this crap is just plain wrong.

I am not a big fan of GWB, he did make many mistakes. But the one thing that I respected him for was making this country safe & rebuilding the national defense. I mean the man had heart & did what he felt was right at the time. He didn't care what the polls said.

There are some things that I like & dislike about every president... The Obama administration is now open for criticism b/c i don't agree with some of their views. I am for small gov't & a strong national defense. Correct me if I am wrong but Bush seemed to be for bigger gov't & a strong national defense. But obama seems to be for Bigger Bigger gov't & weakening the national defense. I laugh at you people who really think I am against Obama just because I'm a registered repub. Its about going back to our core values as Americans & remembering our heritage & not silencing our voice of opposition.

Cause thats how liberals think. You must be Right, racist, or in bed with W. You can't just disagree with them, whether your argument follows with a factual bibliography or its your own personal opinion. It's easier to label you one of the above and walk away feeling superior!

I plan to go, but my work schedule(or lack of) could change that plan.

I don't understand how the webbernet works, but I would think that shutting down service providers would not be out of the question.

Chaz, since I can't reach you right now, do me a big favor and smack yourself. Just because you are happy with the way things are going, doesn't mean that everyone else needs to sit and watch the country fall apart. Now shoooooosh yourself or say something productive. Fatass.

I'd imagine it's for some sort of security measures, everyone always wants to have free range on the Internet and sadly it can't always be that way. I don't see why in some way they shouldn't be able to control or take control if something drastic happens, I get th whole freedom thing and the constitution but that sht was written so long ago you have to be realistic with things like this and not over reac and think the government is trying to control your life.

this makes me laugh the most. where's the end? if the govt. can control a certain part, who's there to say 'enough is enough'? do you not understand the concept of the govt. creating a 'disaster' scenario in order to get you to give up you freedoms without resistance? what better way to get your agenda into the open and into general public acceptance? were you with us here in reality on 9/11? it's simple, during a disaster or as you say, a "drastic" event, the govt. rapes the US population as much as possible since the sheeple will be blindly patriotic and not question anything.

it happens every day. it's a constant whittling away at our rights and freedoms as US Citizens, under the disguise of 'protection'. it's disgusting... plain and simple. f**king sickening.
