Haha, thats a little harsh man. I happen to love my wrx, and I know that my little wrx has no problem beating your evo, as I have done it on numerous occasions.

2 occasions to be exact but lets stay on topic

Evo is just sooooo much better, responds to mods sooooo much better, with at turbo back exhaust and a tune your pushing 300hp on an evo, what do you get on a wrx like 210hp, please evo is KING

whats your reasoning? if you're going to say something like that at least take the time to explain why. otherwise you just sound like a mitsu fanboy...

i think this thread has been done before a while ago, blah.

I bought a WRX cause when we needed a NEW car the Evo was still a year away. I always wanted the Evo though.

On the other hand, I'm not too sure there are many people on here that bought a car cause they really liked the competition instead, lol.

Your point of view will be skewed by the model you own.

The reason I like the Mitsu product better is cause the spark plugs are easier to get to and overall the motor is a lot easier to work on, in my opinion. Although it might be a toss up on which clutch is easier to get to.

first off this should be a comparison between the evo and the sti.
second, an exhaust and a tune on an sti will get your 300 to the wheels, in fact i believe there's a video of a white sti vs a white evo that was posted just a few days ago comparing two similarly modded cars. what was the outcome there?
and lastly, your extreme one sidedness makes this argument almost not even worth replying to, even though i am.

Doesn't the new STi have a 2.5 litre engine while the new Evo only has a 2.0 litre engine? If this is the case I think the Subaru STi would be better and also subaru has a better track record for having reliable cars if you are going to keep it stock or only have basic performance modifications.
My friend has a Evolution 5 and this thing breaks down on him pretty often and since I had a mitsubishi before (1995 3000gt vr4) I can honestly say I did not like how often it broke down. My friends 2002 WRX on the other hand put down 500horsepower and never broke down once it was only stolen. He now has a 2005 STi putting down 320 at the wheels.

This is my reasoning for believing the Subaru WRX STi is a better vehicle overall although I find the Evolution 7 aesthetically pleasing.

STI over rated huh? I'd say hardly... I like EVOs... my friend Chris has one (baddassevo) and he's pushin around 345hp to the wheels which is awesome. It is nice to know that the motor has had so many years of use that there are a lot of proven parts you can get.

As the EJ257 has been out for around 2 years now, you're starting to see more and more reliable components for it... so the gap is steadily closing.

Between comfort, features, and the stock power of the STI, I went with one and love every minute of it to this day. It has been modded for over 30,000 miles and runs like a champ...

see but what im saying is what 2 point 4 dsm is saying the evo is much easier to work on, and there are numerous and i mean numerous evos running well north of 600hp already and not only shop cars, the 4G63 engine has been tuned so much and improved upon in every aspect, mitsubishi is really putting a lot of effort into the car and come on it just looks so much more sex, also if you guys ever watched the videos comparing the evo to sti, both in the japanese shows and the english shows, the evo always wins hands down,

I like one of the anologies that they used on one of them shows

"An evo is like a f-16 fighter jet, while the sti is more like a bomber"

they are both good cars but the evo is a lot more responsive both in steering and in handling, i know anyone the has a subaru will have a biased opinion towards the subaru and anyone with a mitsubishi towards the evo so lets debate, what is better with the sti?

Every magizine I have every seen has put both cars stats within 5% of each other. I would say neither one of them is better. Personally the new Sti is faster then the new Evo 9 from what I have heard.

i'll sacrafice some of the steering sensitivity for greater turning radius... I love how the evo is as responsive as it is and for a while wished my car was like that but man, the EVO has too poor of a radius for me in the instances where you have to make a tight u-turn or corner.

i mean look, there are a lot of things that make them similar and I love both cars... I feel the build quality and the interior quality is better in the STI than the evo. that may have changed in the last EVOs though, because I have had the most seat time in an 03.

I think i'm pretty good at keeping a bias out of it... when I went out to a buy a new car I did consider the EVO, but after sitting in it at a car show I was really disappointed when I compared the interior to an STI. Also at the time, the EVO didn't have a DCCD and was stuck with a 5-speed. If the MR was out in 04 when I got my STI, I'm sure I would've paid more attention to the EVO...

It'd be cool to see how both of them would compare with a tbe and tune. I'm sure that's what you meant and not run a stock STI against a tuned/modded evo 9

you should type less and read more. STis with exhaust and a tune are making 300whp, like i said above.

the two cars you are comparing are so incredibly similar that anyone who takes to one side so strongly is just blindingly biased for some reason. i think i could copy and paste everything you've typed about the Evos so far in this thread and replace "Evo" with "STi" and almost all of it would be accurate.

your car is flippin great, ok? but guess what, so is the STi.

I also have to agree the Sti 2005 is nicer inside then the Evo 8. I haven't been in the 2006 versions so I have no idea. Personally I like the styling of the Evo IX alot better then the Sti, but I like the interior of the Sti better. Personally I would never be driving either of these cars though so my opinion doesn't matter. Both cars with equal mods are going to be just as fast. I really doubt the Evo picks up more Hp then the sti with the same exhaust and intake mods.
