Random cell phone question

Ok, so last night, my LG Dare apperently went missing, and it is no longer in my apt, or in my car. Already tore apart both to find it, but I am sure that someone else walked away with it last night.

Anyway, I am using my old LG flip phone, but just personally, I can't stand this thing. When I got the Dare in May, I already signed a 2 year contract, but now, looking for another phone (Possibly the Storm). What I want to know is if I can get it with the new 2 year contract price, and just resign a new contract?

If you have asurian (sp?) insurance its a $50 deductible for lost/stolen phones. If no insurance, then you just need to hassle people until you get a deal. Odds are they won't just give you the promotional price, even if you agree to sign on for 2 more years. The real question is, do you want the same phone service for 4 years?! I personally haven't kept any service that long..

Most companies won't let you upgrade and get promo prices, even with a contract extension, until the 11th or 23rd month (depending if you're on a 1 year or 2 year contract) of your contract.

I've already been on Verizon wireless for 9 years... whats a few more?

And no, of course I didn't have insurance. I generally to lose, break, or get my cell phones stolen.

But, I will head to VZW tomorrow after work (just not in the mood right now), and see what I can do.

You'll need to leave VZW for that.

I have VZW and hate it, cam't believe you made it 9 years with a company that ruins all the phones they provide and lock the hell out of them..

Check ebay and craigslist for old phones, probably scoop a ENV for cheap now that the NEV touch has been out for a bit.

If VZW gets Iphone they will ruin it and lock it to hell. Their OS's suck. I have a voyager and I used to think it was awesome. Then I realized how locked down it really is. Can't beat VZW coverage though, I never lose service.

This is part of the reason why I won't leave them. In the last 9 years I have had them, the coverage has been damn awesome, never lose service, or any of that crap.

As for the phones themselves, I just want something I can call and text with. Those are the two main reasons. Apps and ****, aren't as important to me.

Ummm i have had service with ATT while other providers (tmobile, sprint, metropcs, kricket, AND VERIZON) all lost service.....Well it was a camping trip in gettysburg, PA but still my phone was the only one with FULL SERVICE. The other guys were borrowing my phone to make calls

Anyway, I am not changing carriers, since I just signed a 2 year contract in May, unless someone gives me a REALLY damn good reason (sorry folks, iPhone isn't good enough), or they want to cover my termination fee.

Just checked it out, I cannot get something at a promotional price... so it looks like I am either sticking it out with the one i have now for 2 more years (this thing is already a couple years old), or getting one second hand.
