Will a car running AEM Standalone pass inspection?

Looking at a WRX that has a full AEM standalone system, and wasn't sure how that would work. Do they pass inspection? Or would one be better converting back to stock and tuning with like a cobb accessport?

it wont pass, unless you know someone. sell the standalone and get an open source tune from a good tuner. Stock ecu tuning is becoming fantastic these days.

Any idea what it would require to put it back to stock ECU? Using the AEM standalone, don't you have to use different sensors and ****?

Why wouldn't it pass? My civic running Hondata and a turbo would pass. I understand they plug some newer cars directly into the computer. Even still you could modify the aem to output the signals the computers needs to pass it. Hell you could program it to pass while black smoke is bellowing out the back if ya wanted to.

By the way I am running an older Haltek right now and plan to switch to AEM this winter. Haltek runs in DOS so it's a tad outdated. Not on a car that requires inspection though.

I was going to run AEM management on my spec-v.. and researched that it would not pass in PA.. therefore I didn't go for it.

Pretty much ant true standalone engine management will not pass inspection, there is nothing there for the emissions machine to communicate with. The best bet is keeping it exempt.
