HID troubles...... very annoying!

Ok does anyone know why one of my HIDs would go all of a sudden turn like a purpleish color?

The other side is the normal color which is 6000k,sort of blueish color! I don't think it is the bulb cause it is lit. Does anyone think it could be the box? I really don't know why it happened all of a sudden...

Apologies ifor the noob question also....

The bulb is going.

Is it one of those $100 kits? This happens somewhat often with them.

To be sure just swap the bulb to the other side. If the problem goes to the other side, its the bulb. If the problem still stays on the original side...its the ballast.

Most likely bulb. But like the russian above said. Swap bulbs to see if bulb or ballast.

Seems like they are hit or miss. I had Apexcone/DDMs which stopped working after 3 months. Now, I have Volts which are working fine for about a year. However, I've seen a couple reports about trouble with Volts also.

I bought mine at Phily Car Show 2 years ago, ballasts still going strong. Have cheapo Ebay Bulbs, over a year now. All work with no issues.

Mine were actually really expensive and i have had them for just over 2 years now so i can not be to mad they are going. I found a great deal on a new set of ballast and bulbs from my boy so worst case scenario i will just do that....

Its one of two things:

1. Your bulb is shot.
2. The ballast is shot and its not giving enough juice to heat up the gases inside bulb enough.

I replaced the bulbs and now the same side is brighter lol....

I am just gonna go to retro solutions and order some digital HID's they come with a lifetime warranty and are much brighter then most i have seen on the road.

I have had one issue with my HID's, one bulb went out, and that was after about a year ago. I replaced it, waiting for the other bulb to go out and just get new bulbs.
