I don't know where I read about it, but someone did it to the stock lancer once. Looked funny in pic but it brought the quarter mile down dramatically without any performance mods.

It's funny how much weight plays a factor in cars. They took of 2 whole seconds. Granted they did take of 2/3rds of the car too.

I remember reading about this. Too bad they had to cut a whole car apart to prove their point. I thought it would be cool just to make a tube frame chassis and start with that instead. But lately, seeing how much time and money goes into actually building a nice chassis I think I'll just start doing weight reduction mods on the GSX instead, lol.

Yeah, lots of people didn't like that at ALL. "2 Seconds for Free, Drop Your ET!" It was a Nissan Sentra SE (SR20DE) with enormous wheels and a bling-bling body kit. Put the car in the low 14's though, haha.
