Haha yeah its a bit of a rant, but damn its frustrating. Not much to complain about with this job at all, but I just wish I had a little flexibility in the schedule as far as actually having a weekend off every now and again and also vacation time.
I figured some others could make their own versions like 'seniority is traumatic because when i was in elementary school the 5th graders used to steal my lunch money' and such, or 'seniority is amazing because being a mod on tst gets me all the ladies'

On topic, I feel ya. I have changed jobs so much in the past 5 years I dont even worry about seniority. Oddly I had so much seniority while working at Reedmans, I left 3 years ago and can still come in and make a check or two and then leave again. I did it this past winter for extra cash.

Seniority doesn't matter in my job since my boss let a guy go that was there for 20 something years and kept me because he said i do a better job. schhhwweeettttt!

Seniority is awesome because I worked in a grocery store for 4 years, had mad responsibility, worked in almost every position aside from management, had respect, made bank for being part time (14/hour), wrote my own schedule, worked my own pace.

1 day ago:
Seniority is bull**** because I work a dead end job where i make no money and get put through garbage that involves no challenge aside from keeping myself from strangling "OC soccermoms" by their loui vutton (sp?) and coach bags then proceeding to run over them and their bitchy 12 year old, crackberry using children, with their 80K dollar sports car in which they cant remember what kind of car it is.

/sweaty rant.

they discontinued the employee discount. I used it and their outsourced security canned me, and 5 other employees. their bargain was "you leave now, and we wont incriminate, otherwise, you will be hearing from safeway's lawyers on the account of theft and unauthorized discounts"

Seniority is... something I don't get because I've worked for the same boss for the past 3 years, at three different dealerships.

Every year is a new place with different faces and no chance for advancement. At least not yet. However, it is a guaranteed summer/holiday job.
