Hydraulic press and or big vice

In about a week or so I will be replacing the lower ball joints on my Honda. The problem is getting the new ones back in. They are pressed in, and hammering them in will damage them. So I need a hydraulic press and or a big vice. Does anyone have either of these or know a shop that wont charge an arm and a leg for to do it?

I have a 15ton press at home, and have done almost every kind of bushing.

But as Honduh stated, control bushings are fairly easy, get em out somehow, burn them out if anything , grease the new ones and bang them in with a rubber mallet. Usually a press isn't necessary, unless they have that metal sleeve around them and that's only when getting them out. A peice of wood on top and some hammering and it should go in fine without any damage. If not you can use my press, Alex(cleanneon) knows where I live.

You can borrow a balljoint press from Autozone for free with a deposit you get back when you return it. That is the way to go if you don't have a press of a large vise.

I have done that with bushings, but I don't know how it is on other Honda's but the steer knuckle has a curve in that makes hammering a tough task.

I am trying to press ball joints in not bushing. The low ball joints are pressed in.

Really? I didn't know they had a ball joint press. I need to check into that.

hammer them in. its easier on a lift, but im sure you can make it work. if you go to any honda dealer i guarantee you every tech is hammering ball joints back in. thats one thing i miss. front ball joints paid something like 4 hours plus alignment time and took 15 minutes to do.

I do it myself and I know how long it takes to put them in, that is why I won't be bringing it to the dealer. I am going to rent the press tool as 1_2befast suggested and see if that works.
