Car update post #15

Just picked up a 2009 Subaru WRX 5-door. Coming from a supercharged m3, so still getting used to the change.

Took a couple pics today, needs a wash already

red tail light covers will be the first mod, i hate them stock

i love the 09 seats

Ooo you must feel powerless coming from a supercharged M3.

The WRX hatch is sweet though. My sister has one.

The power is actually pretty decent, and its nice to have AWD. I'm just glad i got a late build date, the earlier ones had some problems.

The car is real fun to drive, but already getting a small mod list together. The 09 is already a lot more powerful than the 08.

Yeah, they're almost as fast as the STi on the straights. Sure blows the RA Lancer away. Why didn't you get an 08 STi? I'm sure there are huge discounts on them.

Quite a change, the 09 WRX is quite the improvement. Get them pics up and I hope the dealer didn't "prep" the car badly, I've already recovered a few Subaru dealer hack jobs. I'm the resident detailer, so keep that in mind

What're your plans for it?

Insurance was way to high for me, the wrx was much cheaper, and also cheaper than my m3 was.

Thanks for the heads up, i might be in touch.

Some small stuff to start out like mud flaps/ shifter bushings / tail light cover / suspension.

Then soon get turbo back and tune.

Well you took a good step by showing at the Applebees meet lol. If you didn't meet Ryan from 1320 at the meet you should and ask about what some safe things are to do with it. Try to keep your warranty for a bit since it seems a lot of the 07-09's are having issues with the 2.5 engine.

Quick update...

- Subaru/Momo Shift knob ... heavier than the stock knob, so a little bit smoother shifts to go along with the STi short shift kit.

- Found a good deal on a SPT catback exhaust a couple months back, so threw that on for the time being. (didn't want anything too loud.. for now)

- Bought a set of Rota 17" wheels for my winter setup... but if i like them on the car ill make them my summer wheels instead (putting them on this weekend)

- Bought set of snow tires (Dunlop SP winter sports 3D) since the stock summer tires wont do much good when the snow arrives.

The car is nearing 4,000 miles, and still very happy with the purchase decision.

Going to detail the car this weekend if the weather holds up for a bit... and get some more pictures with the new wheels.

Next mod: Tail light red tint, Boost gauge

for me i have to wait and hopefully get snow tires before snow hits or really bad snow i should say haha

im gona have Shades of Gray tint shop do mine next time i'm home from school hopefully

Also... only 2 things that im not too fond of with the car...

the speakers (i knew what i was getting when i opted for the base model, but still)
and i have a bad dash rattle at times thats pretty annoying... cant figure out what it is or where its coming from for some reason
