Wheel Hop / Motor Mounts

Im getting crazy wheel hop when i launch from a dig. Its to the point where its so bad, my radar detector bounces off the windshield, im really worried about doing more damage to my car. So, motor mounts right? Polyurethane? Anyone ever replaced them on a V6 probe? Any ideas as to where to get them?

i had terrible wheel hop in my car until i got energy suspension motor mount inserts for my front and rear motor mounts. if you cant find aftermarket motor mounts for your car you could always make your own with some polyurethane.

Polyurethane is the way to go.. The nice thing is it takes the stress off the exhaust system. But with that it takes the vibrations and sends them through the body. I have inserts in my stock mounts which is crucial with a Race Header for the K-series engine. Otherwise the stress and flex of the engine(especially during the launch and hard shifting) can crack the header. Also the sound of the exhaust got louder inside the cabin as well.

Now I just need better tires since they like to spin like a bitch going into second WOT.

do you know anything about RR-Racing.com. they are a vendor on probetalk. they ahve both mounts for freaking 55.. its tempting..

energy suspension makes front and rear inserts for my car. I just put in the front, got rid of MOST of the wheel hop for my car, but it's so much easier to break loose a set of ****ty tires. Also, sometimes, your mirrors will rattle so much that you can't make out whats in em. But the vibration isn't all that bad with one in there. I'd say one mount is good for a daily driver

Rafi (RR) makes some pretty good mounts. My buddy ran them in his probe, just your basic poly insert. For my mx6 (same mounts) I just filled them with polyurethane. There are some write up's on probetalk.com somewhere. I found them to be just as hard if not harder then rr's inserts. The rear mount is the one that usually tears the worst. When I was installing my turbo I took the rear one out and it was ripped clear in half. They will definitely make a difference in launching, but be warned you will feel a lot more drivetrain/engine/exhaust vibration. Good luck and pm me if you have any other probe/mx6 questions.

i hear the rear motor mount is a real bitch to replace, would you agree.. im thinking about just paying ford for the one hour labor.
