2008 Hyundai Accent "racecar"...need help of the KDM heads!

My boss at work once told me he would buy anything at the auctions...I guess he really meant it. Driving to my friend's pool this past Sunday I had my dad with me and decided to show him the 73 buick riviera we have parked at a storage lot for my dealership. I pull up and this is the first thing I see.

Looks like a typical rice burner but has some decent parts on it like the Konigs, Star Spec tires, molded aero, Momo seat, wheel, and pedals, and pretty decent paintwork too. It was APPARENTLY a racecar running Nitrous which kinda makes sense seeing as its clutch is totally shot with only 900 miles and change on the odometer, but some things don't make sense. The interior isn't fully gutted, it has no Radio but AC and power windows/doors/mirrors (though they are now CF f1 style non-power ones). The wheels and tires are too big and rub, looking at the cuts on the tire in pic 1.

I got to drive it today from Willow Grove to Bala Cynwyd for about 30 miles on the highway, barely fit in the seat, but it handled pretty decently, I guess that's a given for a 100whp partially gutted car running wide sticky tires and the track is about 10 inches wider than stock (4-6 inch wheel spacers on every wheel).

I'm curious if anyone knows anything about this car, did Hyundai make it as a demo car, was it some local ricer, maybe built for HIN?

Thanks for any info.

The upper bolsters did that for me, I guess they are meant to keep your helmet in place, caused some really nasty blindspots though. I was on the highway and every time a truck went by me with someone looking and laughing the only thought in the back of my mind was "please don't shoot me".

It doesn't look TOO bad...the wing, roof scoop, and the excessive widebody are a touch much but the rest I don't mind.

How tough would be a Beta swap into one? I bet that would be a quick little ride. These don't weigh too much.

I know in the older accent hatches its pretty straight forward but in the new body style I don't know if it's been done yet. It looks like they tried modeling it off the WRC car...

I'm going to go out in a limb and say it.

Without the STI-esque rally spoiler, it wouldn't look bad. I dont think I'd ever drive it, though.

if you drove this thing , you are a ricer. SOrry. To even consider being caught driving that thing with the ginormous rear wing and dumb body work with a stock motor?? that is horrible. This car is the opposite of clean. $.02
