National Repo Network

i dunno how many of you have seen advertisements for "Police impounds, repossessed cars, new cars for under $500 blah blah blah" advertisements.

dont bother with it. its a scam lol.

i was looking for a cheap car a few months ago and my price range wasnt too big so i decided to give these guys a call. the service was free so i was like sure ill do it.

so first they want to send me a welcome package. its free but costs $7 to ship. i was like "no. i dont need a welcome package". So i didnt have to pay anything, as long as i cancel my service within the first 10 days.

the guy told me a would be on the internet within hours looking at hundreds of listings for impounded cars. he said "in general, most cars sell for between $500 and $1500"

i got my password and stuff. two days later my account still wasnt activated so i still couldnt find cars.

on the 3rd day i looked at 3 repo cars. one in ohio, one in pitt, one in va. they were like a sunfire, a cavalier, and something else. all of them were over $2000. WTF?

i ended up buying a car on craigslist that week so i didnt need this account.

i called to cancel. dial 5 to cancel your account. no representatives were available. an hour later i called again and hit 5. this time i was on hold for 30 minutes and finally it hung up on me. so i called and chose option 3 which was to add a service to my account.

someone was on the line wihtin minutes (go figure). i told her i wanted to cancel she said ok. i gave her my name and she said ok your account is cancelled. it seemed really easy and simple. i was like "are you sure im not gonna get charged or anything now?" " no sir your account has been cancelled"

so i was like alright and i hung up. i forgot about it until i was looking over my credit card summary yesterday.

they charged me twice already. i called them yesterday and no one was available. called them today and chose option 3 again lol. the man picks up and asks how can he help me. i told him what happened and he says, "sorry our computers are down right now. your gonna have to call back again sometime so i can pull up your account"

so i called my credit card company and got my card cancelled.

just so no one else makes the same mistake i did.

if it sounds to good to be true....

I joined one also but for motorcycles. Complete BS and like you mentioned all the bikes were selling for what ebay / craigslist offers.

For a legit way to buying cheap cars go to - http://www.ppa-auctions.com/

Bidding starts at $300.. some cars go for ruffly what they are worth but I've seen some things sell for wayyyy cheap. Go to "Dates" for listings and locations. Its also open to the public and its live auctions (in person only)

Edit : only issues I have with this auction are your not allowed to get in the cars, theres no keys, and no way of knowing if the title is salvage or not. These are the cars picked off the streets for no insurance, registration. They do take credit cards and you have to pay day of auction. You also have to have the car off the lot that day (tow'ed)

False false false. All you had to do was tell the CC comp. to not let them charge your account again.

I have AMEX and they're the **** when it comes to arguing charges. All you gotta do is go online, say it was fraudulent and then boom, u have american express fighting for you. I've never lost.

Just in case anything comes up like this for anyone and you're still trying to get accounts canceled... Tell who ever you're talking to that you'd like to speak to a supervisor or manager. If one isnt available, tell who ever you end up on the phone with (sales, billing, management) that you'll report them to the FCC if they don't completely inactivate your account and reimburse the charges completely. If they know what's good for them as a "business" that threat should be reason enough for them to do whatever you want.

ha!!!! this is true, it happened to me as well, i was talking to comcast offices all over the us. comcast has the worst customer service by far.

oh and by the way, most of these companies don't care about threats because thats all they are, is a threat. the best bet is to do the leg work yourself. I personally hate and don't trust most companies that "provide services" because there is no consequence to them when their service fails or doesn't work.

04 VW R32 - $17,200. Not much of a deal if you don't know the title status. But yeah they had others on there that were cheap.

Edit: TB224 is a 05 Honda CBR1000RR to be auctioned Jul. 25th

The worst thing is that at the time I had just gotten a director position at Comcast but felt lazy that one freakin' day and called in. Oh, and the office they use for downgrades of service is in Montana with a larger, escalation call center in Quebec. In other words, in you get pissed at them, you have to go out of the country or to the middle of nowhere to bust some heads. All I do is facepalm. I can fix things in my region, but outside of the greater northeast I am utterly powerless. You know how bureaucracy works? It's 1,000 times worse in a large corporation.

Just to let you and everyone else out there know that they will still be able to charge your account. I work at a bank, all they have to do is find out if the account is still open. If a charge comes through on a cancelled card and its linked to an open account it can be charged, doesnt mean that it will but they can find out your account info still. It has to do with the company referencing that old card number and being able to find the new account number, people would do that all the time at my old bank and those payday loan places would still find the account info and charge the customer. I would call your bank and file a REG E form out and they will research it and give you a provisional credit and then after they research it if it comes back that it was how you said it was then you keep the cash, if not they take the cash back and research it some more. Speak with your local bank rep and Honestly fill out a REG E Form, this may come back next month.
Hope this helps, any question please PM me
