NIKON d40 + macbook

why can't i connect my nikon d40 to my macbook. its not seeing it on mac side. but i see "Connecting to PC" on D40

My response was such because it will make your life easier. Is there an in-camera option to change from PC->Mac? Does it connect to other computers? Are you trying to connect to transfer files or for some other reason? All of this makes a difference so until you answer those questions, get a card reader.

i used to use my d40 with my macbook, with no problems.

where are u importing the images to?

iPhoto or just a random folder?

u should see this when u hook up ur d40...
(it says d90 because thats what i currently use)




also if u have iPhoto, it should just pop up on its own (unless u changed ur settings in iPhoto)

Yea there has to be a miscommunication between the computer and the camera. Also why I asked if there was an in-camera setting that needed to be changed.

my d40x connects to my MBP no problem. i use a card reader now though for ease.

Or, you could download the latest version of Nikon ViewNX, with Nikon capture. This is Nikon's software solution and gives you some image editing capabilities. I've been using it for years on both my laptop and G5.
