Painting my wheels w/ Duplicolor Wheel Coating Bronze!*UPDATED WITH PICS ON POST#50*

Well the tech section wont let me post's new topic's so im posting this in here since its still car related.

Im searching for Duplicolor Wheel Coating in Bronze color. I want to buy it locally tho and not online, as shipping (most sites, ship each bottle separately which is RETARTED!) is very expensive!

I mean I found it for sale on ebay, and other sites, but they charge on average 9.99 a can and then a ton to ship each can seperatly, and I need 6 cans!!! One site, after selecting 6 cans, and shipping it was almost 90$!!!

Help me find this spray paint in a local store (levittown/langhorne hell il even drive to philly/nj if they have it in stock).

Its this paint:

Here is the duplicolor site, listing local stores to buy it at.

Now I went to the following stores to see if i could find it.

Pepboys (had every color but BRONZE!!!!!! There was no spot for it on the shelf and the guy at customer service desk couldnt find it at the warehouse or anything. They just DONT CARRY BRONZE WTF!?!?!?)

Home Depot - dont even sell duplicolor.

Autozone - No duplicolor wheel paint at all on the shelves, cant even order it and have it delivered to the store (view the first link above, see shipping/purchase details).

hmmm im lost on where to buy this paint besides on some website where im paying $90 for 6 cans. Pep boys had every color except bronze for $6.25. It would be like $38 there. ****... im so pissed.

Here is a Mustang GT (i think) rim painted with this exact paint and its simply, awesome looking. Im looking to paint a set of bbs rims this color, but with a polished lip and silver bolts.

Im ready to go, except no paint. Got the rims, im about to strip them down and prep them for paint but i need the paint!!!!!

Well i like to put 3 coats on each wheel. I need 2 cans of clear also. a can a wheel plus 2 cans of clear = 6!

1 & a 1/2 cans is not nearly enough for 4 wheels with 3 coats each.

Plus its always good to have extra paint incase of chips or anything that you need to touch up.

Have you tried asking the auto parts store if they can order a few cans in? When I was working at AAP there was a way around that, so that they can get what you need.

Pep Boys sell that brand of paint and has alot of colors.

I ordered some paint the other day. They didn't have enough. They will pick it up from another store at no charge. I had mine in less then 24 hours.

Pep boys: every color except bronze, can order every color but bronze. Guy helped me for 20 minutes on the computer, pep boys does not stock bronze.

Autozone: use to carry it, but doesn't anymore and can't order it. All hubs, or warehouses, are empty and not restocking. There fading out duplicolor for rustoleum.

/gay.

Strauss Auto usually has a ton of Duplicolor stuff compared to the other stores mentioned. I got black trim paint there a couple times, and everywhere else was out of it. I can check my local one near my work tomorrow if you'd like.

Jpalamar (nice avi lol) - yea im going to order it online if i cant find it by Wedneday, July 22 (next pay day lol). Soo yea, I dont want to but it might come down to that. I see pictures of the color on wheels, but if i personally dont like the color on my actual wheels, I can return unused cans for my money back, verse the internet, I cant really do that it wouldnt be worth re shipping fees. We'll see.

HQuakers that would be awesome thanks!

Yea if anyone comes across it please let me know.

The only strauss auto I know of is on delaware ave in philly, and it is a 1 1/2 hour round trip but worth the drive if they have it in stock. I might call them a little later today. I got a lead that my local Kmart stocks duplicolor (and may have the one I need) so im actually about to go out the door and see what they have. **** calling and getting some idiot who doesnt know what it is, or pretends to check and they really do have it and I miss out on it. Duplicolor.com list's KMart as a dealer with their products so im crossing my fingers Plus my buddy said "his friend" got it there before. We'll see!

Il post back and let everyone know.

What brand black trim paint did you use?

I've just been using the Mothers Back to Black stuff on mine, but it is starting to not look so good.

I got mine at autozone a long long time ago. 6 cans is rediculous. 2 cans of color and one clear is just fine. I may have some laying around. Let me check.
