Teeth Whitening

Well from years of drinking soda and having braces years ago my teeth aren't exactly as white as I like them too be. I have since cut back on drinking anything that could stain my teeth and brushing as many times a day as I can. However I like to get something to aid in the process.

I started looking into teeth whitening kits online and in the stores. I picked up a kit but heck there are SO many different kinds/brands. I just started using a kit I got so I have no idea if its going to make any difference. But they sure aren't the cheapest thing around.

However I wanted to find out if anyone has used any teeth whitening kits either from online or in the store and if they had any results? I just don't want to buy the wrong thing and find out it didn't work. I rather pay the money to get the right thing then to keep testing out failure products.

If someone went to a dentist to have it done how much did it cost?

I had my teeth professionally whitened. It cost 450 bucks but it's worth it. It was way quicker than a kit and got them really white, but not unnaturally white.

I used the Rembrandt 2 Hour whitening kit a few times and I saw some good results. I also use the Crest whitening tooth paste- the daytime version and the nighttime version. I recommend both.

i think pro whitening like said before would be the best bet. 450 for great looking teeth that arent painted white is a good deal. But, if you are looking for the cheaper way out, i used the crest white strips in the blue pentagon-ish shaped box. seemed to work pretty well for me personally.

only problem with at home teef whitening stuff bought over the counter is it's reall bad for your enamel. plus if you have sensitive teeth (like me) it'll mak them stupid sensitive.

but they do work.

$450 is not bad at all. I may consider just going in someplace and getting it done. For some reason I thought it was $800+ to have it done lol. I guess I will finish out the kit I got and if I don't notice anything will just go someplace.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

^ it's only 800+ if you need more than one session, and you usually don't unless your teeth are really stained.

They also have really good deals if you can find anyone else to get them done with you. Sometimes buy one get one free or buy one get one half off.

I plan on getting mine done, although they're already good. I want that un-natural movie star grill look.

Yeah I don't want my teeth looking like holy white but just a few shades whiter then I am now. The kit I got now are like mouth piece trays you put on the upper/lower part of mouth. I did try those stick in film things awhile back and I think they are a mess and hard to keep in place. I like the trays better.

Deptford Sam's Club has a tooth whitening booth right by the checkout lines.

I used the Crest Whitestrips. I usually kept them on for about an hour or so at a time. I got really good results. I only had a little bit of sensitivity which went away after about 20 mins.

Crest white strips worked well for me too. They never made my teeth sensitive and Crest claims that they're safe for your enamel.

I didn't try the Crest brand strips however I had another brand. It may have just been the brand or me however it seemed like I could never get the strips to stay on my teeth right?

Cereal though, my mom got it done a few years ago..her teeth were like pretty much green cause all of the medication she's on messes up her teeth/skin/everything and it worked really well. They're not like obnoxious white but sooo much better so I can only imagine what it would do for someone who's only slightly discolored, lol.

Strips are annoying. I always ended up pushing them around with my tongue and lips.
